The advent of the Internet era has changed people’s relationship with time, both in terms of the increasingly flexible time structure and the problems faced by individuals in an accelerated society, such as "time passing too quickly" and "inability to focus",making time management an important part of individuals’ lives. The time management is an important part of an individual’s life. How to construct one’s own time structure, give indicative meaning to time, and plan the course of events in the new media environment, and how to adapt and adjust the use of technology to better manage and master time by using subjective initiative are key issues. In this context, technology has responded, and a mediated approach to time management has become a new approach to time management. The media is no longer just a tool for communication, but also a tool for individual self-management,and a series of time-management-oriented applications have emerged. This paper explores how individuals use mediated time management through participant observation and in-depth interviews, and seeks to discover how individuals are influenced by technology in this mediated process, and how these influences affect their behavior and perception of time. The study found that users typically use "to-do plans","focus timers","stats","social sharing" and other features offered by time management apps to achieve sequential timing. The study found that users usually use "to-do plan","focus timer","data statistics","social sharing" and other functions provided by time management applications to construct sequential time, develop focus habits, count and analyze quantitative time and seek reference of others’ time,so as to complete personal time management and planning. And for the time management rules provided by technology, individuals do not accept and implement them wholesale, but continuously adapt to adjust their time management behaviors through the use of obedience, compromise and resistance. The article concludes with a summary of the positive impacts and possible problems that mediated time management provides for people to manage their time, and proposes future-oriented reflections.
