General Technology course is a compulsory course in senior high school.It is clearly pointed out in the curriculum standard that this course is aimed at improving students’ technical literacy,promoting their comprehensive and personalized development,and focusing on improving students’ technical design and application ability,so as to cultivate students’ innovative spirit and lay a good foundation for their lifelong development.General Technology textbooks are an important part of the general technology curriculum.They directly reflect the learning content specified in the "General Technology Curriculum Standards" and embody some new ideas and concepts advocated by the reform of the general technology curriculum,influencing the teaching activities of teachers and students.Textbooks not only reflect the learning content of the curriculum standards but also embody the current society’s demand for innovation and development.They can not only inspire the creativity of teachers and students but also promote curriculum reform and development.In addition,textbooks are one of the important components of the curriculum and are the basic guarantee for the quality of high school teaching,which will affect the teaching practice of front-line teachers.This study takes the Jiangsu Education Publishing House’s 2019 edition of general technology textbooks as the core and horizontally compares them with the general technology textbooks published at the same time by Geology Publishing,Guangdong Science Publishing,and Henan Science Publishing.Based on the research of the "General High School General Technology Curriculum Standards(2017)",through horizontal comparison,it is found that each version of the textbook has different characteristics.The teaching cases in the Jiangsu version textbook pay more attention to the value of cultivating students,selecting cases that not only embody knowledge points but also permeate patriotism,love for the party,and our excellent traditional culture.The Geology version textbook emphasizes the processing of details in teaching content,which is expressed in-depth and thoroughly.The Guangdong version textbook has rich content in each column and sets up sections for student practice activities and content that facilitated self-study or the improvement of student’s abilities.The Henan version textbook is written meticulously,with carefully selected graphics and text and included a Chinese-English vocabulary list.The horizontal comparison provides certain references for the implementation of the core literacy development objectives of the general technology curriculum based on the new curriculum reform,enabling educators to profoundly understand the essence of the new curriculum reform,understand the advantages of the 2019 edition of the textbook,explore teaching ideas and methods that promote students’ comprehensive development,and provide textual evidence for future curriculum reform research and textbook development and use.Next,through the combined research of the "General High School General Technology Curriculum Standards(2017)" and the "General High School Technology Curriculum Standards(Experimental)",a vertical comparison analysis of the Jiangsu Education Publishing House’s 2019 and 2004 editions of general technology textbooks was conducted.By comparing the surface of the Jiangsu ’ s 2019 edition textbook and the 2004 edition textbook,it can be determined that both editions have a certain organizational structure,and the content of the textbooks has a certain structural framework.After studying the chapter writing and section writing methods of the two versions of the textbook,a comparative analysis of the corresponding chapters and sections will be conducted based on the structure of the contents of the two versions,the content structure diagrams of the corresponding chapters of the two versions of the textbook,the logic of the two versions of the textbook,the introduction of similar knowledge points,the coherence of chapters,and other dimensions.It can be deduced that the 2019 edition of the textbook has more advantages.Vertical textbook research can provide valuable references for textbook writers to better guide the writing of textbooks and provide effective suggestions for future textbook reforms.In addition,through the comparative analysis of the 2019 and 2004 editions of the textbook,relevant teachers can have a deeper understanding of the original intention of the new curriculum reform,which can promote the transformation of their teaching concepts and combine multiple teaching methods to promote the comprehensive development of students.With the development of The Times,the writers and users of textbooks are trying to adapt to the new curriculum requirements,and have made efforts in this respect.In order to promote the development of general technology curriculum,this study puts forward some suggestions for teachers and a model of classroom teaching design.
