| The undergraduate academic tutor system has played a significant role in ensuring the high quality cultivation of talents in the context of the substantial growth of higher education scale.In order to improve the quality of talent cultivation,some local first-class universities have adopted the undergraduate academic tutor system one after another.After years of implementation,this system has achieved certain results but some problems have also emerged.As a typical example of local first-class universities,H University has rich experience in the implementation of undergraduate academic tutoring system,which is a good reference for local first-class universities.The survey on the current situation of the implementation of the undergraduate academic tutor system in local first-class universities was conducted by using questionnaires and interviews to understand the implementation status of the undergraduate academic tutor system in H University.It is found that University of H has achieved certain results in the implementation of the undergraduate academic tutorship system with flexible and rich academic guidance and tacit cooperation between teachers and students The evaluation subjects are diversified,reflecting the main position of students.However,there are still problems such as students’ and supervisors’ unclear understanding of the academic guidance system,students’initiative needs to be enhanced,academic guidance does not fully meet students’ development needs,the assessment methods are not reasonable enough to affect the enthusiasm of academic supervisors,there is no effective mechanism to promote experience,and the necessary hardware conditions are not sufficient.Through further analysis,it is concluded that the causes of the problems are mainly the inadequate implementation of the system,insufficient willingness of both teachers and students to communicate actively,insufficient teaching staff,heavy workload of tutors,inadequate assessment system,limited incentive effect,and failure of institutions to establish a mechanism to continuously improve the overall effectiveness of guidance.On this basis,improvement strategies for the implementation of the undergraduate academic tutoring system in local first-class universities are proposed.Schools should promote the implementation of the system and strengthen the process management at the institutional level;academic tutors and students need to enhance their main awareness and fulfil their due responsibilities;at the same time,the guarantee of the system should be increased and the support system should be improved to play a supporting role;in addition,the assessment and evaluation methods of the undergraduate academic tutoring system should be improved and the In addition,it is necessary to improve the assessment and evaluation methods of the undergraduate academic tutor system,improve the incentive measures and feedback mechanism,play the role of incentive for teachers and students,and promote the continuous improvement of the effect of academic guidance,so as to achieve the goal of comprehensive development of students,improve the quality of talent cultivation and accelerate the construction of first-class universities. |
