In the context of the new curriculum standards and double reduction,in order to achieve the core literacy oriented teaching goal and construct the students’ mathematical knowledge system,the author conducts research on the teaching design of middle school mathematics large units based on the background of "new curriculum standards+double reduction".Firstly,literature review and data organization were conducted on large unit teaching,and junior high school mathematics teachers were consulted.Based on this,research methods such as literature research,interviews,and educational experiments were used to study the design of junior high school mathematics large unit teaching.Using a plane Cartesian coordinate system as an example for educational experiments,specific steps and methods for implementing junior high school mathematics large unit teaching were obtained,which not only increased efficiency but also reduced burden,Achieve the effect of cultivating core competencies and building a mathematical knowledge system.By consulting relevant literature and focusing on junior high school mathematics teaching,research results have been obtained: based on the background of "new curriculum standards+double reduction",the specific steps of designing junior high school mathematics large unit teaching include preliminary analysis,determining the theme of the large unit,designing unit content,dividing unit class hours,designing divided class hour teaching,designing unit learning evaluation,homework design,reflective teaching and improvement,and unit teaching structure diagram,teaching practice and reflection.Based on the teaching design steps of junior high school mathematics big unit under the background of "new curriculum standard+double subtraction",the author designs the case of the plane rectangular coordinate system in Chapter 7 of Compulsory Education Textbook · Seventh grade II,and selects six classes in Seventh grade as the research objects.After teaching practice,effectiveness testing was conducted.Based on the knowledge framework map created by students,unit test scores,and interview results,analysis was conducted.The practical effects and conclusions of the case in this study are shown as follows:(1)Large unit teaching helps improve students’ math scores and is feasible for middle school math teaching.(2)Large unit teaching helps to build students’ knowledge system,cultivate core competencies,and reduce homework burden The interviewed students’ interest in learning mathematics has increased,and their classroom participation has increased.Improvement areas:(1)Classroom hours should be reasonably divided according to the teaching content to avoid situations where there is too much or too little time.(2)Homework design should also be more interesting to enhance students’ enjoyment of learning mathematics Developing core competencies is a long-term process,and the effect of only one unit is not significant,and should be implemented in the long term.Through the implementation case of large unit teaching design in the plane Cartesian coordinate system,it can be concluded that the teaching method in the form of large units is conducive to the implementation of the new curriculum standards and double reduction in junior high school mathematics,the development of students’ core literacy and the acquisition of the four basics and four abilities,the construction of students’ knowledge system,and the exploration of the essence of mathematical knowledge and methods.
