| High school is the most important stage of the entire learning career,academic procrastination as a kind of common phenomenon,to the high school student life has brought great impact,especially for the high three students,in the face of heavy study tasks,delay will greatly influence the learning process,obstacles to achieve the goals of the college entrance examination,at the same time also can bring great impact to student’s psychology,resulting in a broad sense of remorse and anxiety,so the study of factors affecting academic delay and reduce symptoms,delay has important research value.From three aspects of personality,emotion and cognition,this paper explores the influence of A&B-type personality traits and future time perspective on academic procrastination.First of all,from the personality variables,A-type personality refers to the patterns related to health,the main characteristics including emotional instability,irritable,high efficiency,always have the time,the lack of A sense of urgency and competitive endurance,etc.,the main feature is with strong incentives to achievement,at the same time with strong sense of time urgency,want to do a few things well at the same time.At present,most of the existing studies have used the Big Five Personality Scale as a measurement tool to study the influence of personality traits such as neuroticism and conscientiousness on academic procrastination.There are relatively few studies focusing on A&B-type personality characteristics,and the conclusions are inconsistent.Secondly,individuals with different time perception may have different psychological tendencies in the face of academic problems.This study will expand the perspective of time perception and study the influence of future time perspective on academic procrastination.The discussion on the mediating mechanism is helpful to reveal the internal psychological mechanism of academic procrastination.Although many studies have demonstrated the relationship between personality traits and academic procrastination,there is relatively little research on the relationship between personality traits,future time perspective,and academic procrastination.Finally,from the perspective of cognitive variables,this study introduces a moderating variable--construal level from the perspective of psychological processing to explore how individuals’ different representations of things affect procrastination.At present,most studies on construal level focus on the impact on decision-making.According to the construal level theory,the level of mental representation will affect the individual’s subsequent behavioral decisions.Future time perspective of personality traits and studies is in the intermediary role can only explain the recent factor of procrastination,it is necessary to consider the future time perspective of the intermediary role of regulation by other variables,namely for individual level of some kind of explanation,the intermediary effect is quite significant,but for individual level of other explanations,whether the mediation effect will exist.In this study,the moderating effect of different explanatory levels on the mediating pathway of "A&B-type personality trait--future time perspective--academic procrastination" was discussed.Therefore,this study can not only increase the understanding of the relationship between personality,construal level,future time perspective and academic procrastination to a certain extent,but also provide an important scientific basis for enriching and improving the existing theories of construal level,and lay a more solid data foundation for future research.From trait level to the state level,this paper through two research to understand high school academic procrastination,and analyzes the relationship between personality traits and academic procrastination,The first study through the questionnaire survey to explore the psychological mechanism,with 1574 high school students as the research object,the middle school students’ academic procrastination scale,type of type A behavior questionnaire insight,explain horizontal scale and time scale,research A&B-type personality affects the psychological mechanism of academic procrastination,the intermediary role of inspection in the future time perspective and explanation level adjustment.In the second part,the experimental manipulation will be used to activate the high and low interpretation levels of the subjects,and the construal level after the initiation will be used to explore the moderating effect of personality traits and students’ academic procrastination,so as to provide support for reducing procrastination behavior in practice.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)On the whole,the academic procrastination of senior high school students is at a moderate level.(2)A&B-Type personality traits positively predicted academic procrastination,and type A personality had higher degree of procrastination.(3)Future time perspective was a negative predictor of academic procrastination,and participants with higher future time perspective had lower procrastination levels.(4)A&B-Type personality traits are negative predictors of future time insight,while A-Type personalities have lower future time insight.(5)The construal level moderates the effect of personality traits on academic procrastination.Under high construal level,the academic procrastination of A-type personality traits can be alleviated.(6)Future time perspective played a partial mediating role in the effect of type AB personality traits on academic procrastination.Construal level moderated the direct effect of personality traits on academic procrastination,and also moderated the first half of the mediating effect.In conclusion,A&B-Type personality traits can not only directly affect academic procrastination,but also indirectly affect academic procrastination through future time perspective.Therefore,future time perspective plays a partial mediating role between Type A/B personality traits and academic procrastination.The interaction between A&B-type personality traits and construal level is significant.High level construal level manipulation of A-type personality can reduce the degree of academic procrastination.Therefore,in order to minimize high school academic delay phenomenon,improve the learning efficiency,should guide students to set up the lofty goal,lets the student under a state of high explain,from the perspective of higher,let the students on their future has a good imagination,improve future time perspective,sets up the positive confidence about the future,so you can study in face setbacks grasped the nettle and actively to solve and improve the learning initiative. |
