Education is the foundation of a century-long plan.Teachers are the foundation of education.Teachers are the cornerstone of educational development,and teacher training is a crucial channel to improve the quality of the teaching body.Teacher training is not only a feasible way to strengthen the building of teacher team,but an inevitable path to promote education fairness and improve education quality.While the practice of teacher training is showing a thriving scene,various problems in the process of teacher training are gradually exposed and manifested,such as the single form of training activities,excessive uniformity of training content and the lack of coordination of training management.Meantime,these problems revealed the low degree of professionalization of the current teacher training activities.Tt is necessary to build a team of teacher trainers with good professional quality in order to improve the professionalism of teacher training activities.Therefore,it has become a significant subject that has to be settled in theory,policy and practice,which makes teacher trainers should have what kind of professional quality and how to promote their professional quality more effectively.Especially in the face of the majority of primary and middle school teachers,the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers is directly corelated to the professionalization of primary and middle school teacher training work,straightly determining the sense of acquisition of primary and middle school teacher training activities.Accordingly,clarifying the ideal model and reality of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers has both rich practical value and important theoretical significance.This thesis firstly sorts out the historical evolution and development of teacher trainers’ professional quality.The proposal of teacher trainers’ professional quality stems from the extension and deepening of teachers’ professional quality.Since the1960 s,the vigorous teacher professionalization movement has begun.In the movement of teacher professionalization,the professional status of teachers has been continuously emphasized,the professional identity highlighted,and the professional quality valued.At present,teaching as a professional work and teachers as professionals have become a consensus in the field of education and even the whole society.Based on the understanding that teaching is a profession and teachers are professionals,it is logically deduced that teacher training is naturally a professional work.Therefore,with undertaking the professional work of primary and middle school teacher training,the primary and middle school teacher trainers who carry out the professional activities of primary and middle school teacher training should have the corresponding professional qualities to be competent for professional positions as well.Based on the deep understanding of the connotative value of teacher trainers’ professional quality,tentatively,this thesis constructs a theoretical model of primary and middle school teacher trainers’ professional quality,whose purpose is to provide a theoretical reference for the improvement of primary and middle school teacher trainers’ professional quality and the realization of professional development.Through the extraction of the element structure and key indicators in the relevant literatures,a preliminary formulation is made from the theoretical level,utilizing Delphi method consults the opinions of the expert group with rich experience in the training of frontline primary and middle school teachers,revising and improving from the practical level,and formulating a theoretical model of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers including four structural elements and eighteen key indicators.The formulation of the theoretical model of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers can provide a reliable basis for the improvement of the professional quality level of primary and middle school teacher trainers,lay a solid foundation for the formulation of professional standards for primary and middle school teacher trainers and become the important basis for teacher trainer selection,appointment and management.It is of considerable positive significance to improve the professional level of primary and middle school teacher training activities,enhance the degree of professionalization of primary and middle school teacher trainers,and even promote the professional construction of primary and middle school teachers as a whole.After fully clarifying what primary and middle school teacher trainers possess theoretical professional quality,this thesis adequately realizes the trainees’ understanding of the current primary and middle school teacher trainers through questionnaires,and combines the interviews with primary and middle school teacher trainers to present the practical professional quality of the group of primary and middle school teacher trainers fairly and objectively.This thesis takes the professional knowledge quality,professional ability quality,professional character quality and professional development quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers as the first-level indicators,and uses general literacy knowledge,education and teaching knowledge,subject knowledge,trainee knowledge,basic teaching ability,professional training ability,expert consultation ability,expert planning ability,educational feelings,moral cultivation,personality trait,professional belief,appearance and posture,emotional health with pointing to teachers’ professional development knowledge,promoting teachers’ professional development ability,accessing professional development paths,adhering to the teachers’ professional development belief to compile a questionnaire on the current situation of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers for the secondary indicators.From the perspective of trainee,the current primary and middle school teachers’ awareness of the importance and current level of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers is clarified through the questionnaire survey.The results of questionnaires and interviews reveal that the current professional quality level of primary and middle school teacher trainers shows a trend of above average,but the room for development is still exist.In professional quality,the professional character quality level is higher than the professional development quality level,the professional development quality level higher the professional knowledge quality level,the professional knowledge quality level higher than the professional ability quality.The overall level of professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers is good,but there are obvious shortcomings in some professional quality part,showing the development logic of “trainer-oriented”.Meanwhile,the integral structure of professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers is relatively balanced,but there is a large internal gap in some professional quality with a tendency to separate theory and practice.Facing the future,it is necessary to continue to promote the unremitting improvement of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers.In order to achieve the goal of promoting the continuous improvement of the professional quality of primary and middle school teacher trainers,it is indispensable to build a professional support system for primary and middle school teacher trainers from the macro level,and from the perspective of policy guidance and discipline construction,the professional development of primary and middle school teacher trainers is needed to be guaranteed and supported comprehensively.Furthermore,it can also provide targeted professional quality improvement strategies for primary and middle school teacher trainers from the micro level,and offer a path reference with practical value for the professional quality improvement of primary and middle school teacher trainers.
