Research On The Subjects Of University Student Volunteer Service

Chinese volunteer service is of Chinese characteristics and it is closely associated with Chinese traditional virtues. Before the arising of volunteer service, learning from Leifeng activity is the main manifestation of helping others. From the beginning of youth volunteer service in1993, it is twenty years. During these twenty years, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Young League Chinese volunteer service has developed a lot, whatever on areas or on field and fostered many excellent student volunteers. By the end of2013, the number of youth volunteer has reached40.43million. Youth volunteers have provided volunteer service more than690million hours. The volunteer service projects has enlarged from Poverty Alleviation and Development, community construction, environmental protection, large-scale activities, emergency rescue to overseas volunteer service projects.Researches on university student volunteer service are mostly included in youth volunteer service research, because university students are the main body of youth volunteers. But there is rarely data to elucidate the percentage of student volunteers in youth volunteers, for student volunteer service not getting recognized by the public people.The specialty of students decides that student volunteer service is different form other youth volunteer service. This study is based on the development of youth volunteer service to explore the development of student volunteer service.In the third chapter, it introduces the development stages of oversea student volunteer service and the experiences of the US, German and France. In chapter four, it studies the current situation of Chinese volunteer service, concludes the development path of student volunteer service and its achievements during the twenty years. Taking the popular science volunteers of Huazhong Agricultural University as an empirical study, it studies the management of student volunteer services. Then it take the the Benyu Volunteer Service Group as an example, and concludes the achievements of Huazhong Agricultural University student volunteer services, hoping it will give suggestions to student volunteer service of other universities. In the fifth chapter, basing on on-site inspection, it analyzes the problems existing in student volunteer service and the causation of the problems. In the sixth chapter, it brings out the countermeasures to solve the problems of student volunteer services hoping the suggestions to help improving the volunteer service enterprise of the whole country. In the seventh chapter, it points out the study shortage, and gives out a path for the following student volunteer service research.Even though student volunteer service has experienced twenty years’development, the research on student volunteer service is still at the preliminary stage. With the transformation of government function, student volunteers will play more and more important part in the society public services. It is hoped that this study will promote the student volunteer service to become a lifestyle behavior of the public people and gives useful suggestions to the development of student volunteer services.
