The new media ecological pattern has given rise to socialized communication with social media as the core communication medium,and has created a new communication ecology for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.This study uses participant observation,content analysis and questionnaire investigation methods,qualitative and quantitative research are combined to research the socialized communication practice process and characteristic of the Beijing Winter Olympics events.The thesis has six chapters.The first chapter explains the research background,issue,framework,significance,method and literature review.The second chapter outlines the evolution of the Olympic media,the shift towards socialized communication and the collaboration of the two modes of communication.The third chapter studies the new media technology support,socialized communication subject and content of the Beijing Winter Olympics.The fourth chapter analyzes the socialized communication behavior of the audience participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics.The fifth chapter reveals the inner connection of socialized communication practice of Beijing Winter Olympics,critically reflects on it,and summarizes experiences and inspirations.The sixth chapter outlines the positive impact of the socialized communication of the Beijing Winter Olympics and the shortcomings of this study.The study finds that the socialized communication of the Olympic Games has dismantled the top-down mass communication mode of traditional media,prompted the transformation of Olympic media communication form towards platform,socialization and intelligence,and built a multi-dimensional communication system.The Beijing Winter Olympics present new media technologies such as camera shooting,video relay,artificial intelligence and visual presentation,which has revolutionized the traditional editorial model,empowered intelligent viewing,and enhanced the anthropomorphic experience.The Winter Olympics content on social media has formed an aggregated production model,with content characterised by multi-subject participation,artistic,athletics and aesthetic integration,and the immersion of audiovisual symbols.Users search,interact and share social information about the Winter Olympics,showing the characteristics of watching while playing,personalisation and socialisation,and ethnicity on social media.Users are motivated by discourse gaming,platform data application and social interaction,and their communication behaviors expand the online influence and social impact of the Beijing Winter Olympics.In the chain of socialized communication practice of the Beijing Winter Olympics,the links of media technology,content production and user audience are intrinsically linked and influence each other.A critical reflection on socialized communication argues that the diffusion effect of social media blurs the boundaries between the virtual and the real,between online ethnic groups,leading to audiences’ attention becomes distracted.Users form platform dependence and behind the empowerment of communication by media technology,the logic of the platform economy is fundamental.Image-driven socialized communication makes it easier for audiences to focus on the superficial,dissolving the meaning and depth of content.This paper uses media ecology theory to propose the experience of following the trend of algorithmic society and following the sense of media ecology,combining natural regulation and social control to maintain the media ecological balance,and socialized communication promotes legacy sharing and reuse of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
