| How the media shapes the image of women is crucial to the development of society and women.However,at present,the media pay less attention to the professional achievements of women in news reports.Even when reporting professional women,they often highlight their family roles intentionally or unintentionally,and the overall female image presents flat and stereotyped characteristics.As a female mainstream media,China Women’s Daily,undertaking the important mission of public opinion guidance.In the context of the Internet,it should make use of the new media platform to build a real and diverse female image.In the first part of this paper,a total of 373 original news reports of China Women’s Daily from January 1,2020 to December 31,2022 are summarized and analyzed by the content analysis method.Then,the overall characteristics of 511 female images appearing as main characters in the reports are described in a general way.The second part,from the perspective of narratology,analyzes the narrative strategy of China Women’s Daily from three aspects: narrative perspective,narrative structure and narrative space.The third part analyzes the visual rhetoric strategy in the official microblog of China Women’s Daily from three aspects: language rhetoric,image rhetoric and visual narrative mode of text-picture intertext.The fourth part summarizes the typical female media images created by the official Weibo account of China Women’s Daily.It finds that the official Weibo account of China Women’s Daily highlights the identity dilemma of women at the micro level,shapes the female image from multiple angles at the macro level,actively pays attention to women’s career achievements and social contributions,and highlights the hard-working,brave,dedicated and innovative qualities of Chinese women. |
