Research On The Impact Of Academic Information Asymmetry Governance Measures On The Academic Integrity Behavior Of University Researchers

So far,the Ministry of Education has promulgated a number of measures and regulations to provide a basis for the internal supervision of colleges and universities and the identification and treatment of academic misconduct.Colleges and universities have also issued corresponding regulations and implemented measures to prevent academic misconduct.The fundamental purpose of the introduction and implementation of the measures is to curb academic misconduct and promote academic integrity.Therefore,the effect test of the measures cannot be ignored.From the perspective of information asymmetry,the asymmetry of information related to academic achievements between knowledge producers and knowledge recipients leads to the proliferation of academic misconduct.Therefore,the fundamental way to suppress academic misconduct is to reduce academic information asymmetry.Based on this,this paper divides the governance measures of academic information asymmetry into four categories : academic information comparison,academic information review,academic information archiving and academic information disclosure.Combined with deterrence theory and risk perception theory,this paper uses multiple linear regression method to explore the influence of academic information similarity detection requirements,academic information similarity detection system types,academic information review standards,academic information archiving standards and academic information disclosure on the academic integrity behavior of university researchers,and uses the mediating effect test method proposed by Wen Zhonglin to study the possibility of perceived threat.That is,the mediating role of the possibility of perceived academic misconduct being discovered.Then,in order to study how the five aspects of academic information asymmetry governance measures work together to affect the academic integrity behavior of university researchers,this paper uses the fsQCA method to conduct configuration analysis.The results show that the five aspects of academic information asymmetry governance measures have a positive and significant impact on the academic integrity behavior of university researchers,which verifies the effectiveness of the measures.The mediating effect of the possibility of perceived threat is significant.Among them,the mediating effect of the type of academic information similarity detection system and the disclosure of academic information is relatively small.The reason may be that university researchers have found the technical loopholes of the existing detection system,and the related academic misconduct has been reported by the outside world through public information.The fsQCA analysis obtained seven intermediate solution paths,which can be divided into three categories according to the core solution : technical detection leading type,manual review leading type and evidence retention-public supervision leading type.The configuration of evidence retention-public supervision leading type does not require the academic information review specification,indicating that the academic information archiving specification and academic information disclosure can help reduce the review pressure of full-time institutional personnel.Finally,some suggestions are put forward : Strengthen the requirements of academic information similarity detection;Make up for the limitations of academic information similarity detection system technology;Strengthen the evaluation norms of academic achievements;Standardized management and preservation of original records;Encourage the disclosure of information related to academic achievements;Increase the exposure of academic misconduct reported by third parties.
