An Empirical Study On The Relationship Between Social Media Use And Employment Anxiety Among Graduate Students

With the popularity of social media,while providing more convenience to the audience,its negative impact is also gradually expanding.Previous studies have shown that the use of social media can lead to psychological problems such as anxiety and depression,with more significant loss anxiety and social anxiety.In recent years,due to the severe employment situation,the issue of employment anxiety among college students has gradually received widespread attention.This article takes graduate students from universities in Henan Province as the research object,trying to find and analyze the impact of social media use on employment anxiety,and further reveal the relationship between employment anxiety and social media use behavior.This study uses questionnaire survey and quantitative analysis methods,through literature review and practical observation,and designs a questionnaire based on mature scales already available in the academic community.It adds a measurement link to employment anxiety,and combines the level of employment anxiety with graduate students’ use of social media to form a questionnaire.Through online distribution,more than 400 graduate students in Henan Province were finally obtained.Combining relevant scales,they measured their social media use intensity,motivation,type of use,social comparison perception,simulated environment perception,algorithm recommendation perception,and employment anxiety performance level.Finally,SPSS was used to analyze the reliability and validity of the data results,descriptive analysis,and linear regression analysis to gradually reach a conclusion.The research findings are divided into the following aspects: First,the employment anxiety of graduate students in Henan Province presents a high level,and there is a significant correlation between grade and school level.Secondly,multiple aspects of social media use are significantly related to job anxiety,with individual types,usage duration,and simulated environments and algorithm recommendations in social media all playing an important role in job anxiety.In response to the findings of the study,the following recommendations were made to the media: First,adhere to the principles of news reporting and avoid creating negative news;The second is to set the agenda well and channel anxiety.Graduate students should also improve their media literacy and correctly view anxiety.
