The 2017 edition of physics curriculum standards put forward the core quality of physics,which means the key character and necessary ability formed by students after learning,and students’ physics experiment ability is a necessary ability formed by students after learning physics courses.To understand the situation of students’ physical experiment ability,it is necessary to measure students’ physical experiment ability.Predecessors have done a lot of research on the measurement of physical experiment ability and obtained the situation of students’ physical experiment ability.In which physical experiment ability of students is better,in which physical experiment ability is not ideal? What about the underperforming physical experimental ability factors? This study will continue the research work on the basis of previous studies.By reading and combing related literature and summarizing previous achievements,it is concluded that the physics experiment abilities of students lacking are: physics experiment design ability,physics experiment operation ability and physics experiment observation ability.After the definition of the concept,according to the analysis of the characteristics of basic elements,the ability of physical experiment design is divided into 11 elements,the ability of physical experiment operation is divided into 6 elements,the ability of physical experiment observation is divided into 5 elements,and then the connotation of each element is analyzed.A questionnaire of experts was compiled to ask the opinions and suggestions of experts and front-line teachers on the analyzed elements and their connotations,and finally the composition of the elements and their connotations were determined.According to the determined elements and their connotation,the questionnaire of physics experiment ability of senior high school students was prepared,as well as the test sheet of physics experiment design ability,the test sheet of physics experiment operation ability and the score sheet of physics experiment observation ability.In this paper,127 sophomore students from two key high schools in Xuan Cheng City are investigated and the following results are obtained: 1.The combination of questionnaire and test phase can measure students’ physics experiment ability,and the factors of students’ physics experiment ability can be truly obtained through the independent evaluation of students and the corresponding investigation of test sheet.2.The results of the questionnaire and test sheet show that the average scores of the factors of physics experiment ability of sophomore high school students are not much different.The students of physics experiment design ability perform well in physics knowledge,physics principles and physics methods,but score low in the way of recording experiment content and processing experimental data,which is rarely involved in the experiment design.3.In terms of physical experiment operation ability,students score higher in the aspect of instrument use elements,which indicates that students can skillfully operate frequently used instruments.The most prominent shortcoming of students is the removal of experimental faults.Most students cannot solve the faults that may occur in experiments by themselves.4.In terms of observation ability of physical experiments,students perform well in observing physical experiment phenomena,but they perform poorly in the experimental environment rarely involved in daily experiments.The observation of students on the whole experiment process is relatively small,students can focus on observation,the observation of the whole experiment is not good grasp.
