STE(A)M is a problem-or project-based education that encourages students to practice in real-world situations.It helps to improve learners’ creativity,communication,critical thinking and cooperation.With the flood of international demand for innovative talents,the demand for talents in our economic society is also advancing from labor-oriented to innovative knowledge-based talents.STE(A)M education,as the cradle of cultivating innovative talents,is gradually gaining recognition and favor in our country.In July,the 2021 General Office of the Communist Party of China and State Council General Office issued the “Opinions on further alleviating the workload of students at the compulsory education stage and the burden of off-campus training”,the introduction of the policy has put forward new requirements for our school teaching,such as reducing the burden and increasing the efficiency,optimizing the design and so on.STE(A)M education,which emphasizes interdisciplinary learning and fosters students’ creative ability,can just connect with it in educational function.Therefore,this study based on the“Double reduction policy” of the new requirements,combined with the characteristics of STE(A)M education for J City Steam Curriculum Design and development.For our country STE(A)M education step by step onto the Chinese localization and standardization of the road to add brick and tile.In the early stage of the article,firstly,I conducted a background survey on STE(A)M education to the teachers,students and educational administrators of J City’s primary and middle schools,to understand the STE(A)M curriculum in J City,teaching,curriculum evaluation methods,teachers and students teaching and learning self-efficacy and other issues,for example,“What is the organization of the STE(A)M curriculum in your school?”,“Who do you think should be taught in the STE(A)M curriculum?”,“Which of the following descriptions of STE(A)M education do you think is correct?”.Then,the paper studies the relevant contents of domestic“Double-reduction policy”,STE(A)M education and STE(A)M curriculum development at home and abroad,it is found that most of the documents related to STE(A)M curriculum are related to educational theory research and STE(A)M specific teaching design,and the research on Steam curriculum development has not become a universal phenomenon.At present,there is no STEAM curriculum development design combined with“Double-reduction” policy,so the key point and breakthrough of this study is to carry out STEAM curriculum development design under the background of“Double-reduction” policy,to promote the all-round development of students and the cultivation of innovative ability.In the introduction of this paper,the research background,research objectives,research methods,research significance and innovation point of the order to clarify the research to carry out early work.The third part of this paper is the theoretical basis of curriculum development,including the study needed for research,teaching models,curriculum development theory.This article focuses on the fourth part,STEAM curriculum development and design.In the early stage of curriculum development,based on the background of the double-reduction policy,STEAM curriculum characteristics and the compulsory education science curriculum standards(2022edition),three principles were set for curriculum design,they are: the principle of interdisciplinary,the principle of individualized teaching,and the principle of cultivating innovative talents.Combined with the reality of J City,this paper constructs the curriculum system of“All-member participation”,“All-procedure cultivation”and“3A-3L-STEAM” for All-students,the curriculum mode based on design-thinking EDIPT model,the three-dimensional goal of STEAM curriculum,clarifies how to perfect the curriculum guarantee from the perspective of teachers and teaching resources of STEAM curriculum,and forms the curriculum evaluation method matching with STEAM teaching in J City.Finally,the STEAM curriculum framework will be developed to demonstrate a specific case,in order to contribute to the development of STEAM curriculum in primary and secondary schools.
