Since the promotion of quality education in our country,"burden reduction" has become a hot educational topic every year.In this context,the leisure time of primary school students is increasing day by day.However,under the unchanged envioronment of examination-oriented education system,the utilitarian tendency of relevant educators is serious,and pupils’ leisure literacy is low,which eventually leads to pupils’ leisure time "increasing brightly and subtracting implicitly" and their academic burden "decreasing brightly and subtracting implicitly".Since elementary school students are in the crucial developing period for both physical and mental,their thinking habits,learning habits,living habits and world outlook,outlook on life and values are in the formative stage.The essence of leisure is freedom,the influence of experience and feeling under the free state of students’ leisure time is often spontaneous,profound and long-term.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to understand the present situation of leisure time utilization of pupils.In this study,students from grade 4 to grade 6 in three primary schools in Furong District of Changsha City were selected as the subjects to investigate the current situation of leisure education of primary school students from four aspects: the occupancy of leisure time,the types and organizational forms of leisure activities,leisure literacy and the influencing factors of leisure education.The results show that there are some problems in primary school students’ leisure time management,such as unbalanced occupancy of leisure time,unreasonable arrangement of leisure activities,unoptimistic leisure literacy and unscientific guidance of leisure education.The main reasons are the negative effects of traditional ideas,the shortcomings of the current education system,the inadequacies of parents’ educational ideas,the wrong orientation of teachers’ leisure values and the limitations of pupils’ age development.On the basis of this analysis,the author elaborates the optimization strategy of pupils’ leisure time management,and puts forward feasible countermeasures from four aspects: school,family,society and pupils themselves.It is concluded that primary school students have a heavy academic burden,so it is imperative to reduce the burden.Meanwhile,burden reduction is not achieved overnight,and leisure education can not be achieved by a single force.Only by coordinating the efforts of schools,families,society and students themselves,can we guide pupils to arrange their leisure time reasonably,improve their quality of leisure life,and enhance their independent leisure ability,can we fundamentally achieve burden reduction and efficiency enhancement.
