Digital technology has a profound impact on the change of rural women ’s family roles with digital consumption as the carrier.Based on the perspective of feminism,supported by gender role theory and gender theory,this thesis comprehensively uses the research paradigm of consumption practice theory.Through the qualitative investigation and research of S village in central Inner Mongolia,this thesis aims at clarify the changes of family roles of rural women in the process of digital consumption practice,and summarizes the characteristics and difficulties of the changes of female family roles in S village.The study found that in the process of digital village construction,the town gradually declined,and the new consumption space layout was formed.The access of digital equipment and the logistics network in all directions made the consumption mode of rural residents change rapidly.Digital consumption entered the daily life of rural residents.Rural women,as users and subjects of digital consumption,were also affected by digital consumption.Under the influence of urban consumption culture,rural scene overlay live broadcast and new consumption space layout,women in S village actively participate in digital consumption and use digital consumption to organize daily life.Under the representation of digital consumption practice with family as the basic unit,it is actually a process in which technology influences women ’s family roles through consumption.After using digital consumption,women in S village have changed in terms of family power,gender role division,role positioning and role cognition,showing three specific characteristics : expansion of activity space,diversification of family roles and improvement of self-identity.However,they also face problems such as structural dilemmas in the process of digital consumption practice and family role change.
