In the context of the gradual expansion of family fertility autonomy and right of choice,it is necessary to study their fertility intention from the perspective of people of childbearing age. When the conflict between social labor and family labor extends to men and women as a whole, the opportunity cost of fertility will be magnified, and the gender role attitude will have an impact on the fertility desire of people of childbearing age.In terms of current academic research, there is still a lack of the perspective of gender difference and time difference. This paper takes the gender role attitude of the child-bearing age population as the starting point, discusses the impact of the gender role attitude of the child-bearing age population on their fertility intention, and further judges whether the impact of the gender role attitude on the male and female childbearing age population is significantly different. With the development of social economy and the change of the mode of social division of labor, the attitude of the gender role of the people of childbearing age is gradually changing from traditional to modern, and the concept of gender equality between men and women is gradually taking root.In the quantitative analysis, the sample data selected in this paper are from the survey data of the China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)in 2013,2015 and 2017,and the data are screened to a certain extent. The sample aged 18-49 is retained, and other control variables in each year are used to supplement the vacancy value and abnormal value.Through the descriptive statistical analysis of the sample, this paper found that the average number of ideal children of the child-bearing age population increased in 2017 compared with 2013,mainly reflected in the decline in the proportion of the child-bearing age population willing to have one child and two children, while the proportion of the child-bearing age population willing to have three or more children increased, and the gender role attitude of the child-bearing age population has become more and more modern, and compared with men,Women’s attitudes towards gender roles are more modern. Then, based on the relevant theories of fertility transformation and the modernization theory of gender role attitudes, this paper uses the 2017 CGSS sample data to establish an orderly logistic regression model to study the influencing factors of child-bearing age population’s fertility intention, taking the number of ideal children as the explanatory variable, and through the principal component analysis of the five dimensions in the gender role attitudes scale, the comprehensive factor of gender role attitudes is obtained as the main explanatory variable,After adding relevant control variables to the model, including personal factors, economic factors and regional factors,we found that the more traditional the gender role attitude of the child-bearing age population is,the more ideal the number of children will be,and compared with the child-bearing age population with urban household registration, the child-bearing age population with rural household registration is more likely to have more children. Then replace the five dimensions of gender role attitude with the comprehensive factor of gender role attitude for robustness test. The test results show that the impact of gender role attitude on the fertility intention of people of childbearing age is significant. Then using Fisher combination test,it was found that there were gender differences in the impact of gender role attitudes on the fertility intention of people of childbearing age.Under the more traditional gender roles, the fertility intention of women of childbearing age was higher than that of men.Under the more modern gender roles, the fertility intention of women of childbearing age was significantly lower than that of men,At the same time,Fisher’s combination test also showed that there was no significant time difference in the impact of gender role attitude, that is,with the increase of years, the impact of gender role attitude on fertility intention of child-bearing age population was continuous and stable. Therefore, according to the analysis results,it can be shown that the gender role attitude of the people of childbearing age has a significant impact on their fertility intention. In order to build a childbearing friendly social environment and comprehensively promote the equal division of labor and status of men and women in society and family, promote men to assume family responsibilities.
