In today’s rapidly developing society, juvenile delinquency, school bullying and other violations of minors’ rights and interests continue to enter the public eye and have attracted extensive research by experts and scholars.Juveniles have their own outstanding characteristics in terms of physiology and psychology, and need to reflect different differences from adults in the judicial treatment of juvenile crimes.Modern juvenile justice should be based on the principle of maximizing the interests of children, and the responsibility of the government and society to protect minors should be strengthened, and in this context, judicial social work has emerged.Minors involved in crimes have common characteristics and problems, especially the loosening of social ties, and there is usually more than one reason for their delinquency, and intervention through a single theory or from a certain perspective is not good enough to reintegrate them into society.Based on this, this study attempts to use Hirsch’s social bonding theory as a guide in the practice of juvenile justice in the prosecutor’s office, applying the principle that people rely on social bonding to achieve interaction between people and their environment to control their own delinquency, and combining social work models, theories, and methods to help one of the clients with conditional non-prosecution for a period of six months, and to help the minor’s family attachment, school attachment, and sense of commitment.Peer attachment, sense of commitment, social participation, and social beliefs were improved. The empirical results show that the social bond theory has positive effects when applied in the practice of judicial social work with minors, and three empirical conclusions are drawn: the family attachment bond is the main factor that influences crime-involved minors to take the path of delinquency, the participation bond is the basis for the judicial social workers to carry out counseling, and the commitment bond and belief bond involve deeper conceptual issues. This paper reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of the social bond theory respectively, presents the current problems of identity, values, and professionalism of judicial social workers, also discusses the reflection on professional values and professional competence in this practice, and points out the shortcomings of this study. Finally, the study puts forward relevant recommendations, including promoting the practice of comprehensive integration of judicial help, introducing third-party evaluation, and strengthening professional capacity building of judicial social workers. |
