A Study On The Reporting Philosophy Of The Paralympic Games In The People’s Daily (1984-2022)

In 1984,China participated in the Paralympic Games for the first time and won the gold medal.Since the 12 th Paralympic Games held in Athens in2004,the Chinese Paralympic delegation has won the first place in the medal count and the gold medal count for five consecutive years.Sports for the disabled are changing the lives of the disabled,innovating people’s understanding and concept of the disabled,making the disabled have more equal possibilities,and promoting the attention of the society to the disabled,to promote the improvement of the social situation and status of the disabled.The media of public interest in the Paralympic Games has accelerated the development of sports for the disabled,and the development of sports for the disabled and the disabled also urgently needs the promotion of the media.Through the promotion of the media,different strata can pay more attention to the disabled groups,so that the rights and interests of the disabled groups can be effectively protected.Based on the frame analysis,the author uses Van Dijk’s news schema to encode and classify the sampling reports of the 10 th and 6th Paralympic Games Paralympic Games of the People’s Daily After obtaining the frame proportion,the report of the16 th Paralympic Games is divided into four stages,and then the discourse analysis of each stage is made from three aspects: theme structure,discourse style and rhetoric strategy Combined with literature,discourse analysis and comparative analysis,the paper summarizes the changing process of the idea of the People’s Daily’s report on the Paralympic Games.The discourses of the Paralympic Games and the report of the disabled are dynamic.Because of the complexity of the background when the mainstream media report on the Paralympic Games and the field of the sports for the disabled,through the diachronic comb of the report on the Paralympic Games,it helps to see the Paralympic Games and the development of sports for the disabled through a historical perspective.The study found that the People’s Daily’s reporting philosophy on the Paralympic Games has undergone a total of four stages of change in nearly 40 years,that is,“Athletes are reported to be given political status” stage(1984-1988),“pay attention to value transmission and guidance” stage(1992-2002),“Liberation of disability” stage(2004-2012),“Deepening people-oriented,building social identity”stage(2014-2022);There are three obvious changes in the reporting philosophy: from political needs to seeking value,from seeking value to humanistic care,and from humanistic care to constructing identity.This change reflects the development process of the concept of disability in Chinese society,which is dominated by the government.As a national ideology,the concept of disability influences the construction of the reporting discourse of the People’s daily on the Paralympic Games,the concept of disability in the current society is not enough to completely solve the problem of social integration of disabled groups,and the people’s daily needs to further reflect on the construction of disability discourse in China’s future.This study puts forward relevant suggestions from three aspects of reporting discourse,reporting quantity and journalists’ team,and through constructing positive,inclusive and respectful news reports,it renews the public’s cognition of the disabled group,to promote the participation of disabled people in sports and social integration,to show the global society a more civilized and equal modern China...
