Intervention Research Of Group Work On Spiritual Comfort Of Elderly In Day Care Center

With the deepening of aging,there were a number of challenges in China’s public service supply and social security system.The day care center,as an important part of the community elderly care service,has also got more and more attention.Many studies have been carried out,mainly focused on the development history,concept definition,development status,existing deficiencies,countermeasures and suggestions of the day care center.In addition to the basic living needs and medical needs,the spiritual comfort needs of the elderly are also an important aspect.There are few studies on the spiritual life of the elderly in the day care center.Therefore,present study will focus on the social work intervention in the spiritual comfort services of the elderly in the day care center.This study examines the spiritual comfort of the elderly in the day care center of H Community in Zhengzhou.Based on the literature review and field research,the current situation of spiritual comfort of the elderly was summarized firstly,finding that interpersonal relationships,emotional support,recreational activities,self-cognition of the elderly were low.Then,the group social work method was used to perform interventions.Through six group social work interventions,including familiarization stage of relationship establishing,middle stage of story sharing,interactive gaming and new skill learning,ending stage of reviewing and summarizing activity.Evaluating results showed that these social work activities were effective,the spiritual comfort needs of the elderly were satisfied at different levels,their entertainment activities,interpersonal communication,and self-evaluation were enriched.Finally,suggestions were provided to help improving the spiritual comfort activities of the elderly afterwards.This study summarizes some practical experience of social work intervention in the spiritual comfort activities for the elderly in the day care center,and provides a new research perspective to solve the problem of insufficient spiritual comfort for the elderly in the day care center,which has certain practical and theoretical significance.
