| Since the discipline status of social work was established in 1987,it has flourished with the support of the government.The social work specialty of practicality and operability shows the importance of practical education.In China,the hospital is an important place for Medical Social Work(MSW).As the vanguard of the specialization and localization of social work practice,the standardization of MSW practical education system and the effectiveness of MSW services have become an important guide for reference in other service fields.In this paper,the internship platform was defined as a dynamic overall system formed by the joint interaction of interns,universities and internship bases.Based on structural functionalism,this paper analyzed the operation effect of the MSW internship platform which the interactive relationship between different subsystems.Firstly,the background and significance of this research were introduced.Then summarized the domestic and international research on practice and practice base construction.Secondly,current situation of MSW practice platform was stated through the methods of questionnaire,in-depth interview and participation observation to comprehensively analyze the operation effect of the practice platform from three aspects.(1)At the level of intern subsystem,the practical skills,special values identity,professional identity and employment intention were taken as the evaluation indicators;(2)At the level of university subsystem,the quality of interns’ graduation thesis,the integrity and standardization of internship materials and the perfection of school internship system were the evaluation indicators;(3)At the subsystem level of the practice base,the MSW service of the practice base was evaluated with the indicators of patients satisfaction,medical staffs satisfaction and the improvement of the system of the ministry of social work.Thirdly,from each platform factor and their interaction analyzed the operation effect of the MSW internship platform to obtain the conclusion that interns’ goals and attitudes,the curriculum setting of universities,and the resources of the internship base affect the operation effect of the platform.Finally,combined with the shortcomings in the actual situation of M University,X hospital and interns,this paper put forward targeted improvement suggestions.The result shows that(1)Interns believe the internship platform can improve their practical skills proficiency,make them more agree with the professional values of social work,and know whether to engage in the MSW industry in the future;(2)Universities believe that the internship platform can improve the quality of students’ graduation thesis and improve the school internship system;(3)The practice base believe that the practice platform can alleviate the pressure of patients,provide help for medical staffs,and promote the development of medical social work services in the hospital.In the process of exploring the role of the internship platform,it is found that the main factors affecting the operation effect of the internship platform are the unclear internship objectives of interns themselves,the generalization of social work theory curriculum,the insufficient effective supervision provided by universities and internship bases for interns,the low awareness of patients and medical staff on medical social workers,the low willingness to actively seek help and referral,the limited service content and resources of medical social workers in internship bases.At the end of the paper,some suggestions are put forward to improve the deficiencies,which are interns need to clarify the internship objectives,universities subdivide and target courses according to the types of cooperative practice bases,the specialization of supervision roles between universities and practice bases,suggestions on integrating resources in the region and realizing joint construction,assistance and sharing of internship platform.This study provides a direction for the improvement of the talent training system of social work specialty,and can provide reference for the construction of MSW practice platform. |
