With the development of society,voluntary service has been widely recognized throughout the country,and plays an indispensable role in the provision of public service in our country,becoming an important force driving social progress.Especially in minority areas of our country,voluntary service plays an indispensable role in promoting economic development and social progress in minority areas.Due to the relatively backward social development in ethnic minority areas,there is a large demand for voluntary services in politics,economy,culture,education and other fields.In recent years,voluntary services in ethnic minority areas have been developed from scratch,with expanding service fields,diversified service projects,and more scientific volunteer organization and management.However,while voluntary services in ethnic minority areas are booming,many problems have arisen.In particular,there is a serious problem of the loss of volunteers.The instability of volunteers leads to the long-term and sustainable development of volunteer services in ethnic minority areas,which hinders the further development of volunteer services in ethnic minority areas.Voluntary service in minority areas is bound to be affected by local customs and traditional culture,so it is very necessary to understand the cross-cultural sensitivity of volunteers in minority areas and the relationship between the cross-cultural sensitivity of volunteers and their service continuity.In this paper,from the perspective of cross-cultural psychology and intercultural communication,414 volunteers from Y community in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan Province were selected as research objects by questionnaire survey method and cross-cultural sensitivity scale of Chen and Strosta.SPSS26.0software was used to analyze and process the questionnaire results.To explore the relationship between the cross-cultural sensitivity of minority community volunteers and their service continuity.Based on the empirical analysis of 414 questionnaires,the findings are as follows: 1.The cross-cultural sensitivity and the level of voluntary sustainability of volunteers in ethnic minority areas are relatively good,and the persistence of voluntary behavior of volunteers in Y community of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is different in age,education level and the total duration of voluntary service.2.There is a significant positive correlation between the communicative participation of volunteers in ethnic minority areas and the sustainability of voluntary behavior.3.There is a significant positive correlation between the difference recognition of volunteers in ethnic minority areas and the persistence of voluntary behavior.4.There is a significant positive correlation between the communicative confidence level of volunteers in ethnic minority areas and the persistence of volunteering.5.There is a significant positive correlation between the communicative pleasure of volunteers in ethnic minority areas and the persistence of voluntary behavior.6.The communication focus of volunteers in ethnic minority areas is positively correlated with the persistence of voluntary behavior.7.Cross-cultural sensitivity has a significant predictive effect on the persistence of voluntary behavior.Based on the research findings,this paper reflects on volunteers’ cross-cultural sensitivity from the perspective of social work practice,and puts forward some specific suggestions to provide ideas and suggestions for cultivating volunteers’ cross-cultural sensitivity,promoting the sustainability of volunteer service behavior,and building a stable volunteer team.
