As the strong backing of the husband, the pillar of the left-behind family and the main force of the new rural construction, the left-behind women in the countryside have made an undeniable contribution to the stability of the family and the development of the society; However, this special group, this vulnerable group that should be widely concerned by the society, from the existing research, the academic community has paid less attention to the emotional needs of left-behind women. Many factors such as agricultural production, caring for the elderly, raising children and so on are the sources of left-behind women’s problems. The heavy domestic work and long-term separation from their husbands have caused physical and psychological damage to left-behind women, and most left-behind women are in sub-health.At the same time, the long-term separation has affected the family responsibilities that should be shared by both husband and wife. The rights of left-behind women have been squeezed. After going out to work, the husband’s lifestyle and values have changed, and the probability of extramarital affairs has greatly increased.Rural left-behind women are affected by many factors and have negative self-evaluation.Therefore,this article is committed to exploring the concepts and methods of social work to help left-behind women better play their subjective initiative and enhance their sense of self-worth.This article takes the rural left-behind women in Y village of Z city as the research object, selects 50 left-behind women in Y village to conduct a self worth survey, and finds that their self worth is at a low level. After conducting questionnaires and interviews,it was analyzed that the main manifestations of low self worth among left behind women were depression, anxiety, and low self evaluation. At the same time,it was found that the main reasons for low self worth among left behind women were weak social support networks, insufficient family communication, and low social attention.Left behind women had a need to build interpersonal networks, obtain emotional support, and enhance their sense of self worth. The author selected a typical left-behind woman F from the survey subjects, and conducted case intervention based on the narrative therapy model under theempowerment theory, aiming to alleviate the patient’s anxiety, reconstruct emotional support networks and interpersonal communication networks, and ultimately achieve the goal of improving their sense of self worth. After the intervention, the author used the adult self worth scale to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention work. The evaluation results showed that the narrative therapy model from the empowerment perspective has significantly improved the patient’s self worth, made their self evaluation more positive, and filled with hope for the future. As a student majoring in social work, the author has rich theoretical knowledge, but due to limitations in practical ability, this article has certain shortcomings.I hope that more researchers can explore this field in the future, enhance the sense of self worth of rural women left behind, and assist them in the healthy development. |
