Education is the foundation of the country and the basis of a strong nation.China is working towards the second century of ambitious goals, but the current excessive academic burden of students, the utilitarianization and short-sightedness of education have seriously affected the healthy physical and mental development of children and hindered the cultivation of high-quality talents.Since the founding of New China, national education policies have been issued frequently to reduce the burden, but the effect of reducing the burden has not been satisfactory, and the difficulty of reducing the burden is still a hot topic of social concern. Why is it so difficult to reduce the burden of education? Is it a false proposition to reduce the burden?Where does the academic burden come from? It is widely believed that the academic burden comes from a number of sources, including high parental expectations,a single assessment system, and test-based education, especially the boosting effect of the college entrance examination, which is considered to be a reflection of the social competition for quality resources on campus. In this regard, many studies have proposed various types of solutions, such as the belief that we should do a good job of collaborative governance of the home-school community and psychological guidance for parents, etc.,but it does not seem to have solved the problem of educational burden reduction at present. The burden reduction has become a persistent problem in education that has never been cured, and there is even a strange phenomenon that the more the burden is reduced, the more the burden is reduced. This has to be thought about,in the end, where is the problem? Have we found the real root cause of the academic burden, and where is it? What are the deep-seated causes behind the reduction of the burden? How can schools get out of the burden reduction puzzle? These are the focus of this study. This study focuses on the research question of what is the root cause of school management in the education burden reduction maze, combing through more than 60 national policies related to burden reduction in the past 70 years, collecting 79 typical cases of "double reduction",collecting more than 30 online media articles, participating in the observation of20 practical schools, and conducting 10 random interviews with principals and teachers. Finally,we conducted a comprehensive analysis based on theoretical orientation using literature research method, interview method, observation method, case study method, content analysis method and text analysis method. In terms of theoretical foundation,an attempt is made to synthesize the holistic theory of knowledge and learning based on the philosophy of subject-object unity to form a theoretical analysis framework around the research question. Finally, the study examines the causes of school management in reducing the burden of education by examining the burden of schooling and the principles of happiness and efficiency,so as to suggest ways to reduce the burden of education. The results of the study show that the problem of reducing the burden in education is due to the unclear knowledge of what to reduce, how to reduce and the effectiveness of reducing the burden;the dilemma of school management in reducing the burden in education is due to the dilemma of "reducing" and "increasing",and the lack of understanding of the old and new tracks of reducing the burden and improving the quality;the failure to follow the intrinsic law of knowledge and the cognitive law of students. This will lead to ineffective education, and students and parents will form an antagonistic force against the reduction, that is,the "silent resistance".Therefore, education administrators need to have a holistic view of education and a vision of education frontier theories,so that they can truly understand the real target and value of the current policy of load reduction, use theoretical improvement as a lever to deeply understand the essence of the new curriculum, and use a holistic vision to pry the teaching system change. The possible innovation of this study is to try to explore several new concepts and expressions, such as "silent resistance","enjoyable learning","burden learning",and "new track of burden reduction"."The study also boldly attempts to use a holistic view of education in the context of the subject-object continuum to guide the whole text, aiming to emphasize new concepts and ideas that are different from the traditional path. The overall concept and sources of academic burden and the dilemma of burden reduction are systematically sorted out and studied. It is hoped that theoretically, the scope of the study of the principle of wholeness of life can be broadened, with a view to providing a reference for constructing a new era of educational management theory and providing inspiration and research support for primary and secondary schools to get out of the dilemma of burden reduction.
