In 2016,the Ministry of Education clearly proposed in the 13th Five-Year Plan for Education Informatization that STEAM education mode should be actively explored to enhance students’ awareness of innovation and information.STEAM education is an interdisciplinary education integrating knowledge in science,technology,engineering,art,mathematics and other fields,emphasizing the integration of disciplines and cultivating students’ comprehensive ability.Among the six core qualities of high school mathematics,mathematical modeling is the most comprehensive and the most extensive quality integrating subjects.Mathematical modeling teaching is an important way to cultivate students’ innovative consciousness and comprehensive ability.In order to effectively improve the innovative thinking and core literacy level of high school students,this paper mainly studies the promotion strategy of mathematical modeling literacy of high school students under the concept of STEAM education.For research on STEAM education concept and mathematics teaching,the existing literature mostly focuses on case analysis and teaching activity design based on STEAM.In this paper,STEAM education and mathematical modeling are integrated.Based on the advanced concepts of STEAM education,strategies for improving mathematical modeling literacy are proposed in view of the current situation of mathematical modeling teaching in high schools,and a mathematical modeling teaching model based on STEAM concept is constructed,and the effectiveness of improving strategies and teaching models is verified by comparing experimental teaching.According to the evaluation standards of mathematical modeling literacy in Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High School(2017 Edition,2020revisions),this paper divides students’ mathematical modeling literacy into four levels,and invited three front-line experts to participate in the preparation of questionnaires and test papers,distributed questionnaires with students from three high schools in F City,and interviewed front-line teachers to understand the problems and shortcomings in the current mathematical modeling teaching process.Combined with the STEAM education concept,targeted improvement strategies are proposed:(1)Integrate teaching materials and improve the proportion of modeling teaching;(2)Pay attention to the integration of disciplines and strengthen students’ awareness of migration;(3)Create teaching scenarios and construct a complete modeling process;(4)Advocate cooperative learning and give play to the leading role of teachers.At the same time,the "four-stage" teaching model was creatively constructed.At the same time,the "four-stage" teaching mode is creatively constructed,and the improvement strategy and teaching mode are applied to the teaching experiment.After six lessons of systematic teaching,the students in the experimental class and the control class are tested in the form of test paper.The results show that the improvement strategy and teaching mode proposed based on the STEAM education concept are applicable to the current teaching of mathematical modeling in high schools,which can effectively improve the level of mathematical modeling literacy of high school students,develop students’ innovative thinking,and provide reference for front-line teachers to carry out mathematical modeling teaching.
