Creative thinking plays an important role in the cultivation of personal ability.In fact,the development of society and the progress of the times are also inseparable from creative ability.Mathematics,as a middle school curriculum,is generally regarded as the foundation of other social sciences,and has a certain positive effect on cultivating human creativity.Mathematical modeling,as one of the six core mathematical literacy,is extremely important for improving students' creative ability.The General Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2017 edition)clearly requires that in mathematics teaching,teachers must pay attention to the penetration of students' core mathematical literacy so that they can learn to express the world with the eyes of mathematics.Based on the research of mathematical modeling in recent years by domestic and foreign scholars,this thesis sorts out the problems existing in classroom teaching and introduces the representative of American education concept---STEAM education.With the help of STEAM education advanced education concept,Improve the existing problems in mathematical modeling teaching,and explore the design of mathematical modeling lessons based on the STEAM education concept.The specific content includes:Ⅰ.By collecting literature,I sorted out the basic concepts and relevant theories of STEAM education and mathematical modeling,and analyzed the research status of these two concepts at home and abroad to form a literature review.Ⅱ.In view of whether STEAM education and mathematical modeling can be integrated,the necessity of the two is theoretically analyzed,and the feasibility is explored from the choice of teaching content,the formation of teaching modes and the establishment of a teaching evaluation system.Ⅲ.On the basis of analyzing the necessity and feasibility,the "three stages and five links" mathematical modeling teaching model is proposed,and the relevant topics suitable for modeling are sorted out.Ⅳ.According to the constructed classroom teaching mode,the teaching design should be done well and the teaching practice should be carried out.In this paper,we chose to teach and record the classroom process in detail.Ⅴ.Using questionnaires and interviews to reflect on the effects of classroom teaching from the perspective of students and teachers.After analyzing the data,we can find that the mathematical modeling classroom designed based on the STEAM education concept can cultivate students' practical ability and application ability,and lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
