As the most basic way of mathematical thinking, mathematical reasoning has an important impact on the learning and life of junior high school students, and the "Objectives of Mathematics Curriculum in Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" also emphasizes the importance of cultivating mathematical reasoning ability. The teaching of "problem chain" has the characteristics of high organization, hierarchy and logic, which has the effect of promoting students’ thinking development. The "problem chain" teaching based on the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability has certain theoretical and practical value for the development of students’ mathematical thinking and the teaching of teachers. The research problem is how to design "problem chain" teaching to effectively promote the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability, and the following three sub-problems need to be solved to solve this problem:(1)the current situation of the development of mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students and the current situation of "problem chain" teaching for the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability;(2)Propose a "problem chain" teaching strategy that effectively promotes the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability;(3)Explore the effectiveness of "problem chain" teaching in promoting the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability.Firstly, the literature related to "reasoning ability" and "problem chain" is sorted out by literature research method, which provides a theoretical basis for the research of this paper.Secondly, through interviews and questionnaires,we learned about the current situation of the development of mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students and the current situation of "problem chain" teaching for the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability.Thirdly, the feasibility of "problem chain" teaching to promote the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability is analyzed, and the "problem chain" teaching strategy based on the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability is proposed. Finally, the strategy is brought into teaching practice to verify the effectiveness of "problem chain" teaching in promoting the mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students.Based on the above research content, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The problems in the development of mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students include: mathematical reasoning itself is more difficult;Lack of interest, understanding and confidence in the learning of mathematical reasoning;Students have less time for independent inquiry in class.(2)"Problem chain" teaching is conducive to the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability, but the implementation will face the problems of weak integrity, weak targeting, insufficient logic, lack of use of modern information technology, and neglect of students’ subjective status.(3)Based on the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability, the design of "problem chain" teaching should follow: the principle of goal clarity, the principle of integrity and relevance, the principle of inquiry and development, and the principle of integrating modern information technology. At the same time, the following strategies can be adopted in the design and implementation: based on the goal, the "core problem chain" can be clarified;Based on information resources, create a "scenario problem chain";Multimedia assistance to enhance the logic of the "inquiry problem chain";Sort out the framework and improve the comprehensiveness of the "inductive problem chain".(4)Through the analysis of teaching practice results,it is concluded that "problem chain" teaching is feasible and reasonable for promoting the development of students’ mathematical reasoning ability.
