A thousand years of foundation,talent is the first.China’s education is striving to improve the quality of talent training and to build up strength for the new journey of building a comprehensive socialist modern country.To cultivate innovative talents,we need to fundamentally address the issue of the baton of education evaluation.The General Plan for Deepening Education Evaluation Reform in a New Era states that education evaluation should "emphasise the cultivation of appropriate professional competence and practical application skills".How can professional competence and practical application be improved?How can competencies be effectively assessed? Teacher competencies are a hot topic in teacher development and teacher quality systems,and the assessment of teacher competencies has been an important tool in promoting teacher development and reform through evaluation.Geography field practice competency is considered to be a major soft power in promoting the living of geography education and facilitating professional development of geography teachers.To address the practical problem of the lack of a balance between individualised and process-based evaluation systems for high school geography teachers and geography normal university students’ geography field practice skills.Combining micro-certification’s emphasis on the practical nature of the certifier,evidence-based evaluation,competence-centred evaluation,and scientific certification of one’s professional competence,the construction explores the micro-certification-based geography field practice competency evaluation model and reveals the key elements and structural framework of geography field practice competency.The aim is to promote the professional growth of high school geography teachers and geography normal university students and improve their professional competence.1.Investigating the current situation of the development of geography field practiceIn order to grasp the current development of geography field practice,this study collected and processed questionnaires based on the specific connotation of geography field practice,taking high school geography teachers and university geography teacher-training students as the target respondents.The results of the survey indicated that: both secondary schools and universities attach importance to the development of geography field practice;the evaluation of geography field practice in universities lacks competence evaluation;the professional competence of high school geography teachers and geography teacher-training students in novice and rural areas needs to be improved;and the training and evaluation of professional competence of high school geography teachers and geography teacher-training students in novice and rural areas should be strengthened.2.Constructing an evaluation model of geography field practice based on micro-certificationThis study analyzes the role of each ability element from the connotation of geography field practical ability,and constructs an evaluation model of geography field practical ability based on micro-certification,including "one core,three pillars and two groups"."By systematically sorting out the elements of geographic field practice competence at home and abroad,using the content analysis method to summarize the main characteristics and trends of geographic field practice competence,and based on this,we initially proposed the components of geographic field practice competence,and adopted the Delphi expert consultation method to ensure the determination of competence The scientificity and rationality were ensured,and finally three primary indicators and 13 secondary indicators elements were obtained.The "three pillars",i.e.the main part of this evaluation model consists of the competency model,the certification framework and the certification process.The competency model is the foundation of the model,the certification framework is to provide tips and requirements for the certifier to gather evidence,and the certification process ensures that the certification process is carried out in an orderly manner.The "two main groups",i.e.high school geography teachers and geography normal university students,both of whom are the main certifiers of this study,are studied to fit the field practicability requirements of high school geography teachers,as well as to meet the requirements for the development of field practicability of university geography normal university students.3.Implementing a micro-credentialing-based geography field practice evaluation modelIn order to provide a paradigm for implementing the micro-certification-based geography field practicability evaluation model,geography teacher-training students were selected as the evaluation objects,and the 2021 physical geography field practicum carried out by a2021 class of subject teaching(geography)majors at a teacher training university in G province was used as an example to design a micro-certification-based geography field practicum assessment and evaluation scheme in Gaopo Township and Shiban Township Mountain Village,Huaxi District,and the final practice results indicated that the micro-certification-based The final practice results indicated that the students’ participation in the geography field practicum evaluation model based on micro-certification was high;the geography field practicum evaluation model based on micro-certification helped to improve geography practicum;and the geography field practicum evaluation model based on micro-certification effectively commanded the practice.In conclusion,this study focuses on the assessment of geography field practicability in the context of education evaluation reform in the new era,and establishes a micro-certification-based geography field practicability assessment model with the help of micro-certification model,which is of positive significance to promote the professional competence of high school geography teachers and geography normal university students. |
