| With the promulgation of the new standards and the continuous promotion of the new curriculum reform,research on "whole book reading" has emerged and become a key topic of exploration in the language education field.The research on whole-book reading has emerged,which is of great significance in cultivating students’ reading ability,improving students’ core language literacy,reforming language reading teaching mode and enhancing teachers’ reading teaching ability.However,due to various factors,the development and promotion of whole book reading teaching is still in the exploratory stage.Based on this,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of whole-book reading teaching in Guyuan urban high schools and identifies the problems in the promotion and implementation of whole-book reading teaching,and proposes corresponding improvement strategies in order to provide reference for this and similar areas.Through literature review and questionnaire survey,this dissertation finds that the current high school whole-book reading teaching has such disadvantages as students’ idle time for whole-book reading and lack of reading plans;superficial content of whole-book reading and single type of reading;lack of whole-book reading methods and low reading efficiency;poor whole-book reading habits and weak reading willpower;poor whole-book reading environment and insufficient use of resources.The teachers’ whole book reading teaching experience is insufficient,the choice of lesson type is relatively single,the teaching method is relatively old,and the teaching evaluation is onesided.Based on the above problems,this thesis proposes strategies to address the above problems.in the creation of reading environment In terms of the creation of reading environment,the society should create a good reading atmosphere and actively create a reading society for all people,schools should accelerate the construction of school libraries,and at the same time,strengthen the cooperation between home and school,and strive to build a reading community;in teachers’ teaching,teachers should develop a complete whole-book reading teaching plan,organize diversified whole-book reading teaching activities,and conduct effective whole-book reading evaluation;in students’ reading level,students should plan whole-book reading time,select wholebook reading books,and cultivate reading interest and willpower. |
