Vocational education cultivates skillful talents,and the construction of its teaching materials should highlight the practicality and effectiveness of skill cultivation.In the reform of teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods,it is clearly put forward the need to accelerate the construction of teaching materials and improve the quality of teaching materials.The innovation and reform of teaching materials in secondary vocational schools should have more distinctive characteristics of vocational education,and the cultivation of secondary vocational schools should pay more attention to the application of talents’ employment skills.However,the current construction of secondary school teaching materials is still difficult to meet the requirements of students’ employment skills cultivation,and it is urgent to build teaching materials for cultivating students’ employment skills.Therefore,this study uses the MES model as the core concept of the loose-leaf teaching material design,and proposes a teaching material design centered on cultivating students’ employment skills to better train students to master comprehensive professional abilities,and explores a loose-leaf teaching material based on MES design.It is of great significance for the follow-up research on the development and construction of loose-leaf textbooks.First,this study analyzed the requirements of MES-based loose-leaf teaching material design from three aspects: the teaching material design requirements for the cultivation of skilled talents,for the curriculum resource construction of vocational colleges,and adapting to the characteristics of students in secondary vocational colleges.Second,the MES-based loose-leaf textbook design process was analyzed using textbook development theory,competency-based textbook design theory,constructivism,and information processing learning theory: The overall design of the MES loose-leaf textbook was based on the theory of textbook development,the design of the content of the textbook was based on the core of cultivating students’ employment skills,the design of the intermodule structure of the textbook was based on the logic of vocational ability development,and the textbook was presented in a loose-leaf format.Again,the research methods of questionnaire survey and interview method were used to investigate the demand for the design of MES-based "Travel Agency Planning and Scheduling Practices" loose-leaf teaching materials and to design MES-based "Travel Agency Planning and Scheduling Practices" loose-leaf teaching materials.Finally,the designed MES-based "Travel Agency Planning and Scheduling Practices" loose-leaf teaching materials were evaluated for teaching practice and effectiveness,and relevant suggestions for improvement of the textbook was put forward.According to the teaching practice and effect evaluation,the MESbased loose-leaf textbook designed in this study pays more attention to the cultivation of students’ employment skills,and can timely add and update the content of the employment skills combination module according to the latest needs of the industry.In-depth analysis and design of work tasks based on employability solves the repetitiveness of textbook content and unreasonable resource design;Based on the connection and relative independence between the content of the employment skills combination module,it solves the scattered and unsystematic teaching materials caused by the design of general loose-leaf teaching materials;it provides some thinking and suggestions for the follow-up research on the development and construction of loose-leaf teaching materials.
