Abstract/Summary:
In this dissertation,a research has been made based on the data of comprehensive social status survey in 2010 and 2020 in province A.Starting from the endogenous and exogenous factors which affecting health.Meanwhile,dividing the exogenous factors into three levels:individual,family and society.This study analyzes the health inequality between male and female residents in different years.Firstly,it describes the health level of male and female residents and the distribution of its influencing factors in the two years,then make a comparative analysis.Secondly,taking the health concentration index as an indicator of health inequality,Probit regression analysis was carried out on the internal health status of men and women.Then the contribution of different dimensions of indicators to health inequality among men and women was further analyzed by index decomposition.Thirdly,the BlinderOaxaca decomposition method is used to decompose the health gender differences to explore the unexplained part caused by gender discrimination and the explained part caused by Individual endowment differences which causing health gender differences,and the contribution of various influencing factors to health gender differences.Finally,at the policy level,some thoughts and suggestions are put forward to reduce the gender differences in health,so as to provide a reference basis for further improving residents’ health gender equity.By summarizing the empirical research results,we can get research findings as follows:There is a health gender inequality in our country.The health level of male residents is always higher than that of female residents,and the degree of inequality has expanded.At the same time,the degree of health inequality among men and women is also expanding.Gender differences in health are mainly caused by gender discrimination.Family per capita income and employment contribute the most to health gender differences.There are obvious differences in the way of contribution of endogenous and exogenous factors to health gender differences.Based on the research findings,this study believes that policy design should be carried out from the aspects of eliminating gender discrimination,optimizing the Influence mechanism of socio-economic factors on health,paying more attention to women’s chronic disease treatment,prevention and control and disease cognition,which have a large contribution to health inequality,so as to narrow the health gender difference and improve the health level of male and female residents.
