Research objective: Functional training is a training method recognized by experts in various fields in modern China, which is more widely used in the field of sports and fitness because of its improvement effect on body function and physiological state. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of functional training on the physical quality and body posture of primary school students, and to provide theoretical and practical basis for the promotion of functional training into primary school physical education classes and after-school training in the future.Research methods: Experimental method, expert interview method, literature method and mathematical statistics method were adopted in this paper. The influence of functional training and traditional physical training on the physical quality and posture of primary school students was selected as the research object.44 primary school students(22 in the control group and 22 in the experimental group)were selected as the experimental objects.A total of11 weeks of functional training, twice a week(physical education class)22 times, the control group did not receive additional functional training, and the members of the two groups were tested in advance for FMS,physical fitness and posture related indicators, the test results were analyzed and processed by independent sample T test, paired sample T test and human posture recognition technology.Results:(1)After 11 weeks of functional training, the test scores of FMS movement patterns in the experimental group were significantly improved(p < 0.05),while in the control group, there were no significant differences in other test items except shoulder flexibility, but they were all improved to a certain extent. After 11 weeks of functional training, there were significant differences between the two groups in scores of six items except shoulder flexibility.(2)Physical fitness: After 11 weeks of functional training, the physical fitness of the experimental group was significantly improved(p < 0.05);The control group had no significant difference in other test indexes except 50×8 round trip.In terms of endurance quality, the test indexes of both groups were improved, and there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the results of 50×8 round trip running. After functional training, there were significant differences between the two groups in the scores of solid ball throwing in place, standing long jump,T-agility test,50 m running and sitting forward bend test(p < 0.05).(3)In terms of posture, functional training can significantly improve the three posture problems of the experimental group: high and low shoulders, scoliosis and pelvis forward.Although the control group has a certain degree of improvement, but far less than the experimental group’s improvement effect.Conclusion:(1)After 11 weeks of functional training,FMS scores of primary school students can be significantly improved, thus improving athletic performance and reducing the risk of sports injuries.(2)Functional training can effectively improve the physical quality of primary school students, speed quality, flexibility quality, endurance quality, strength quality and agility quality.(3)Functional training is more conducive to improving students’ posture problems, alleviating and improving high and low shoulders, scoliosis and pelvis forward.
