| China is both a multi-ethnic country and a unified country.With the development of mass higher education in China,the opportunities and proportion of ethnic minority students to study in higher education institutions have increased.Pluralistic ethnic cultures are a vivid testimony of human cultural diversity,and we should respect and protect every ethnic culture,but it is undeniable that the diversity of students also makes university students vulnerable to cultural differences and regional differences.The university student group,especially the minority students,is the main force in improving the quality of the nation,promoting economic development and maintaining national unity,and their social adaptation ability directly affects whether they can gain a foothold in society,join society and return society in the future,so as to realize their self-worth.Therefore,the social adaptation of university students is a problem that should not be underestimated,and it is also a problem that must be faced and solved.The higher education institution is an important place for training college students,and how to enhance the social adaptation ability of college students in a multicultural background is a realistic problem that deserves attention.Therefore,this study takes the college students of Qinghai Normal University as the subject of investigation,and analyses the current situation,development dynamics and influencing factors of college students’ social adaptation.Methods: This study combined questionnaires and interviews,firstly,the current situation of social adaptation was studied by the Chinese College Student Adaptation Scale on 2994 21 st grade college students of Qinghai Normal University;secondly,students of some majors from each college were selected as subjects for a one-year tracking survey,with tracking every three months,and a total of five tracking data were collected to explore the multilayer linear model method Finally,12 students were selected for semi-structured interviews,and the interview data were coded,analysed,abstracted and summarised according to the rooting theory,in order to further explore the influencing factors on the social adjustment of university students in a multicultural environment.Results:(1)The overall mean score for social adjustment of QHU students was3.538,which was greater than the critical value of 3.The current state of social adjustment was therefore judged to be moderate to high overall,with significant gender differences.(2)In the five tracking data,the social adjustment level of college students in Qinghai universities has a significant upward trend,with an average rate of increase of 0.185.(3)The gender and ethnicity of college students in Qinghai universities have significant predictive effects on the social adjustment of college students,mainly in the following ways: the starting point of social adjustment of men is higher than that of women,but the rate of change of social adjustment of women over time is faster.The starting point of social adjustment level of Han Chinese college students is higher,and the rate of change of social adjustment of minority college students is faster.(4)The factors influencing the social adjustment of college students in Qinghai colleges and universities are mainly five aspects: personality characteristic,growth environment,school factors,interpersonal network and psychological factors. |
