| Learning habits are a kind of stable and automatic patterns of learning behaviors.“Kindergarten Entrance Preparation Guidance ” clearly points out that we should do a preparation of children’s learning,one of which is to cultivate children to develop good learning habits.Especially for older preschoolers who are about to enter primary school,they need to develop good learning habits,which will help them adapt to the life of primary school smoothly and benefit them for whole life.Under the background of double reduction and the impact of the global epidemic,the topic of learning habits cultivation is hot.However,at present the situation of older preschoolers in learning habits is still not optimistic.There is unique educational value in kindergarten as common educational tools “picture books”.Therefore,the author applies picture books to the cultivation of learning habits of older preschoolers,explores the effectiveness of picture books teaching and summarizes effective educational strategies,so as to provide reference for front-line teachers to implement picture books teaching activities of learning habits.The method of action research was adopted in this study,selecting two older preschoolers of S kindergarten in Huangshi city as the research objects to conduct an action research for almost three months.Before the action study,the current situation of learning habits of older preschoolers in kindergarten S was investigated by the method of investigation and observation.The results were that among the four classes,there was no obvious difference in each dimension of the learning habits;the cooperation of older preschoolers was at a good level,while other aspects were at a medium level,specifically for poor planning,unstable concentration and weak persistence.Therefore,the study was followed on order of planning,concentration and persistence,and was designed through the development of children’s physical and mental characteristics.At the same time,the view,experience and suggestion of teachers on the cultivation of children’s learning habits with picture books were interviewed,so as to further analyze the reasons,designed the teaching activities of picture books,and put forward the strategies and suggestions to cultivate the learning habits of older preschoolers with picture books.In the action study,the three rounds of 9 picture books in teaching activities were carried out by the spiraling cycle of “planning--action--observation--reflection”.By referring to the evaluation standards of teaching activities in picture books and suggestions from cooperative teachers,the author reflected on and improved the teaching process of picture books.In a control class class,the original teaching activities were still arranged.After the action study,the questionnaire was issued again and the results showed that: older preschoolers in the two classes showed significant differences in the learning habits of planning,concentration and persistence.Older preschoolers in the experimental class got higher scores than those in the control class.By observation of children,we could find that the children in the experimental class were more planned,concentrated in their activities and understood the importance of persistence and were not afraid of difficulties.Thus,it can be seen that the use of picture books took a significant effect on the cultivation of children’s learning habits.The results of this study showed that picture books were an effective way to cultivate the learning habits of older preschoolers.Effective strategies for picture books teaching were summarized include: the selection of picture books,the formulation of teaching objectives,the design of teaching activities,the use of teaching methods,and the reflection of teaching activities.Based on the research results,suggestions were proposed as follows: the kindergarten should introduce high-quality picture books,organize teachers to participate in relevant training activities,provide rich teaching aids,value the power of home education;The teacher should establish correct educational concepts,master the strategies for implementing teaching activities in picture books,adhere to grasp chronically and repeatedly. |
