Throughout the history of modern and contemporary Chinese education,the tradition of "emphasizing literature rather than language" in Chinese teaching has a long history.There is still a long way to implement the top-level design into the firstline teaching.Activity theory has deep theoretical roots and has an important impact on education and teaching practice.Its rich and scientific connotation provides a promising solution to the current problems in oral communication teaching relying on learning activities.Based on this,taking learning activities as the center of oral communication teaching and reconstructing it from the perspective of activity theory can provide a new way to solve the large gap between the reality and the necessity of oral communication teaching in middle school,so as to improve students’ oral expression and communication ability effectively.This study adopts the methods of literature research and case analysis,which mainly includes three parts.First of all,in the part of theoretical investigation,the core concepts are defined,and relevant research results on oral communication and activity theory and teaching are summarized.Then,the evolution and basic principles of activity theory are further sorted out,and the feasibility and necessity of designing oral communication learning activities under the guidance of activity theory is found.Secondly,in the part of framework construction,it obtains inspirations from the activity theory in the level of macroscopic level,including taking the activity system as the basic unit of design,reforming the learning way by expanding learning,and promoting the process of activities by contradictions.Then,at the micro-operational level,it proposes specific operational design strategies for the creation of situation,the design and application of tools,and the construction of community,and the design model of oral communication learning activities is constructed comprehensively.Finally,in the part of teaching practice,the theory is applied into practice.Based on the model,complete case designs are carried out for two different types of oral communication of debate and speech in the unified Chinese textbooks of middle school,providing reference for front-line teaching.
