Traditional Chinese opera education can enhance students’ understanding and experience of traditional Chinese opera art and is an important content and vehicle for leading students to establish correct aesthetic concepts,cultivate noble moral sentiments,and cultivate profound national emotions.This article is based on the "Implementation Opinions on the Entry of Traditional Chinese Opera into Campus" jointly released by four ministries in 2017,and takes the teaching status of Yuju Opera in some middle schools in Puyang City,Henan Province as the research object.On the basis of investigation and analysis of "Implementation Opinions on the Entry of Traditional Chinese Opera into Campus",the "Work Plan for the" Traditional Chinese Opera into Campus "Activity in Henan Province",and the "Opinions on Strengthening and Improving the Aesthetic Education Work of Schools in the New Era"(2020Edition),"Art Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education"(2022 Edition)and music education theory,these methods such as literature research and interview surveys were comprehensively used to investigate and analyze the essence of Yu Opera,its function and value in middle school music education,the current situation in middle school music education,practical research in middle school music teaching,practical reflection and suggestions.Moreover,an in-depth analysis was conducted on the teaching status of Yuju Opera at S Middle School in Puyang City since the implementation of the "Opera on Campus" activity.Based on relevant policy documents and drawing on existing achievements,teaching practice research was conducted and practical reflections and suggestions were proposed.The full text is divided into seven parts:The introduction section elaborated the research background of this study,provided a literature review,proposed research ideas and methods,and elaborated on the research purpose and significance.Chapter 1,Overview of Henan Opera.This chapter defined the concept of Yu Opera,introduced and elaborated on the four regional schools of Yu Opera,namely Xiangfu Tune,Yudong Tune,Yuxi Tune,and Shahe Tune,and conducted a deep analysis of the artistic characteristics of Yu Opera from three aspects: singing,clothing,and makeup.Chapter 2: The Function and Value of Yu Opera in Middle School Music Education.This chapter focused on the educational and aesthetic functions of Yu Opera in middle school music education,discussing its comprehensiveness,auxiliary virtue,and intellectual benefits.It also analyzed the teaching and inheritance value of Yu Opera in middle school music education.Chapter 3: Investigation and Problem Analysis of the Current Situation of Yu Opera in Middle School Music Teaching.This chapter mainly focused on the "Opera on Campus" activity at S Middle School in Puyang City.According to the curriculum standards and relevant policies,a questionnaire survey and interview were conducted on the overview of S Middle School in Puyang City,the current situation of students’ learning of Yu Opera,and the current situation of teachers’ teaching of Yu Opera.This objectively presented the current situation of Yu Opera teaching at S Middle School in Puyang City.Chapter 4: Practical Research on Yu Opera in Middle School Music Teaching.This chapter focused on the teaching practice of Yu Opera conducted by the author.Music classroom teaching involved two aspects: curriculum design and teaching practice,and then explores the path of extracurricular or club activities of Yu Opera in middle school.Chapter 5: Reflection and Suggestions on the Practice of Yu Opera in Middle School Music Teaching.This chapter focuses on the root causes of the problems discovered in the author’s current investigation and personal teaching practice,and provides opinions and suggestions from three levels: school,teachers,and students.The conclusion section is the summary of the entire text.This section comprehensively and systematically analyzed the main problems in the teaching of Yu Opera at S Middle School in Puyang City,and proposed improvement ideas based on the corresponding problems.At the same time,the author also realized the shortcomings of the research and clarified the direction of future efforts.
