Autonomy is the core element of children’s personality,which is of great value to children’s growth.Small class children have just entered kindergarten,and the first challenge they have to face is to adapt to kindergarten life.It is of great significance to cultivate children’s autonomy and improve their adaptability for their individual development.In this study,a small class of children in S kindergarten in Zhangzhou City was selected as the research object,and data were collected by investigation and observation.By analyzing the present situation of small class children’s autonomous development,the existing problems of children’s autonomous development were understood,and an action research on cultivating children’s autonomous development was designed and implemented.First of all,through questionnaire,interview and observation,this paper investigates the present situation of children’s autonomous development and finds out the problems in children’s autonomous development: Strong dependence and poor self-care ability;Unfamiliar with routine,Easy to get out of control;Lack of one’s own opinion,etc.Secondly,according to the existing problems,the goal of action research is determined,and three rounds of action research are designed and implemented.Each round of action revolves around the three dimensions of autonomy — — self-reliance,self-control and self-assertion,and implements corresponding centralized activities,regional games and home co-education activities to cultivate children’s autonomy.After each round of action,reflect on the effect of the activity in time and constantly improve the training plan.Thirdly,after the action research,it investigates the development of children’s autonomy again,analyzes the achievements and shortcomings of the action research,and puts forward some educational suggestions on cultivating children’s autonomy in small classes in daily life.Research results: In terms of self-reliance,children’s ability to complete personal affairs by themselves is improved,and their sense of independence is strengthened;In self-control,children are basically familiar with kindergarten routines,and their expression and regulation of emotions have improved,and their self-control level has improved;In terms of self-assertion,children’s personal assertion has been developed and they are willing to express their ideas boldly.Research suggestions: 1.Pay attention to children’s internal motivation and external motivation;2.Carry out specialized educational activities and construct independent development courses;3.Infiltrate the cultivation of autonomy in one day’s life;4.Pay attention to parents’ cooperation and effectively implement home co-education;5.Strengthen the theoretical study of teachers’ autonomy and give full play to the guiding role of educators.
