The "General Senior High School History Curriculum Standards" clearly states that history teaching should emphasize the core of major concepts.This requires teachers to change their teaching concepts,shifting from a focus on the transmission of historical knowledge to a focus on historical understanding.In teaching,the emphasis should be on using concepts as connecting points,connecting the historical context,summarizing historical laws,cultivating students’ historical understanding ability,and examining the present with a scientific historical perspective.The importance of historical concepts is well known to front-line teachers,but there are still many problems in the implementation of historical concept teaching.Issues such as students ignoring the importance of historical concepts,lacking methods for learning historical concepts,teachers holding outdated teaching concepts,using single teaching methods,and textbooks with complex content all limit the effectiveness of historical concept teaching.The author addresses these problems in the implementation of concept teaching and proposes corresponding solutions.Next,the author outlines the implementation path of historical concept teaching in three stages: before class,during class,and after class.For example,before class,teachers should determine the core concepts,conduct an analysis of the students’ learning situation,and students should engage in independent pre-study through task sheets provided by the teacher;during class,the teaching of concepts should follow the students’ learning and thinking process,according to the characteristics of the history discipline and students’ cognitive features,select appropriate materials,and provide effective teaching guidance;after class,timely evaluation and consolidation of the historical concept teaching should take place.Finally,the author uses the third sub-topic,"taxation system," of Lesson 7 in "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History" as an example for designing historical concept teaching,providing a reference for front-line teacher.
