Action Research On Improving The Professional Ability Of Rural Social Work Talents In Guangxi Ethnic Areas

The Party’s 20 National Congress mentioned the strategic deployment of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization.The key to rural revitalization lies in people.Social work talents play an important role in discovering and cultivating rural construction forces,serving rural vulnerable groups,and resolving social conflicts at the grassroots level.Social workers are important human resources to carry out professional services.Only with excellent professional ability can social workers meet the job requirements and achieve positive interaction with service objects.However,social workers’ professional competence is still weak,which is mainly reflected in their low efficiency in practical work and lack of mastery of theoretical methods.Professional services are basically carried out step by step according to their own understanding of individual cases,groups and communities.It is difficult to provide high-quality professional services,match the needs of service objects and respond to the expectations of rural areas for professional services.The ability to write professional documents is poor,and social workers often face the confusion of "how to introduce and explain the identity of social workers" and "how to do social work".Therefore,this study aims to explore the effective ways and methods to enhance the professional ability of rural social work talents in minority areas.Action research is an important research method of social work,a research paradigm of social science,and a helpful working method of practical training and enhancement,integrating research,education and practice.Action research is a kind of purposeful,value-oriented and problem-solving action,which revises back and forth between theory and practice and is a reflexive practice.Through station observation and unstructured interview,it is found that the improvement of professional ability of rural social work talents in minority areas is mainly faced with the congenital disadvantage of non-professional background,the lack of targeted institutional training,and the difficulty of external support and guidance.Therefore,this paper takes action research as the main research paradigm and five township social work stations in S County as the carrier.As the person in charge and supervisor of the action to improve professional ability,the author coordinates the plan and implementation of the entire action,playing the role of organizer,educator,researcher and practitioner.Rural social workers are both the research objects and collaborative researchers.Cooperate to carry out action research on improving the professional ability of rural social work talents in ethnic minority areas.In the action,professional social workers and rural social workers establish an equal partnership,through offline and online dynamic monitoring of social workers,understand the problems and needs of rural social workers.Centering on the professional competence of social workers in three aspects,namely,transactional competence,direct service competence and social service management competence,we have jointly negotiated with rural social workers to carry out six interrelated services,namely,pre-job training,online thematic training of professional belief education of social workers,online thematic training of professional document writing,case workshop and social work practice workshop,so as to improve the professional competence of rural social workers.Through station observation and unstructured interview to understand the shortcomings of the action,and jointly analyze the action.Through the process evaluation,effectiveness evaluation and result evaluation,it is found that social workers in the transactional ability,direct service ability,social service management ability has been improved in different degrees.It can be concluded that participatory action can improve the professional ability of rural social workers,and professional social workers need to play different roles in the process of action.In the action of professional competence improvement,it is found that social workers should deal with the dual identity of villagers and social workers in practice,the professional casework method should be combined with the local reality,the professional competence improvement of social workers is affected by various factors,and the transactional competence plays an important role in the professional competence of social workers.In view of the action process,professional social workers and rural social workers jointly reflected on the form of action plan,the training content should pay attention to practical and professional,the action plan should meet the needs of social workers,and the action should establish an equal partnership with social work talents.However,this round of action also has some shortcomings.It does not pay attention to cultivating rural social workers’ awareness of independent learning,the action time is short,and rural social workers’ professional ability is limited.
