"Grasp The Timing":a Study On The Action Strategy Of University Social Work Service Groups

At the call of civil affairs departments,social work actively participated in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.In response to the call of the government and the requirements of the school,the social work major of East China University of Science and Technology has continued to participate in the rural revitalization and social construction of Xundian Hui and Yi Autonomous County,which has been targeted by the school since 2017.From September 2021 to February 2022,the author,as a member of Xundian Social Work Service Group of East China University of Science and Technology,carried out professional practice in a minority community,namely the MiTang community.The author has noticed that"timing" is of great significance for the university social work service groups to intervene in the development of ethnic areas.The paper collected research data through participatory observation and semi-structured interview,and analyzed what "timing" has grasped by the university social work service groups in participating in the development of ethnic areas from the perspective of "temporality"?How to grasp the "timing"?What kind of action strategy is presented?The research found that the university social work service groups take advantage of the combination of government and schools to enter the MiTang community and members of social work service groups became "community intern",successfully entering the community to carry out demand investigation.In order to fulfill the requirements of education departments for quality education,local primary schools urgently need to carry out aesthetic education classes.Members of social work service groups quickly grasp this timing to provide services,which was not only loved by children in the community,but also well known by local people.When the MiTing community strives to promote the construction of community culture,the social work service groups takes this timing to carry out cultural conservation activities,extend rural aesthetic education classes to the community.In the process of promoting the environmental and cultural development in ethnic areas,the members of the service group give full play to their subjective initiative,independently choose the roles involved and the places where the service is carried out,and accurately grasp the timing of "school-county alliance,aesthetic education and cultural conservation",so that social work services can be carried out smoothly.It can be seen that "grasping the timing" is an important action strategy for social work in colleges and universities to successfully participate in community development in ethnic areas.The enlightenment of this paper is that the service providers can’t be ignored in the"situation" in the practice of social intervention in the development of ethnic areas.Paying attention to local situations and combining social work professional knowledge and skills with local knowledge is an important way to grasp the "timing".The research model of "practitioner orientation" can better realize the feedback of social work practice to social work theory,and may construct an operational theoretical framework.
