In higher vocational colleges, counselors are not only the backbone force responsible for ideological and political education for college students, but also the organizer of daily affairs and management work for students.Vocational counselors are affected by various factors, and their professional pressure is increasingly severe. Therefore, analyzing the influencing factors of vocational stress of vocational counselors and exploring intervention strategies for vocational stress are conducive to the good development of vocational counselors and vocational education.Based on the theory of care, the law of Jesse Dodson and the theory of Ecological systems theory, this study uses the methods of questionnaire survey and case interview to conduct in-depth research on the counselors of School B,one of the 200 high-quality vocational colleges in China,as the research object.89 valid questionnaires and 14 interview records were collected to further understand the current situation of vocational pressure of vocational counselors. This paper uses the Grounded theory analysis method innovatively to study the vocational pressure of vocational college counselors, codes the original interview data level by level, and analyzes the influencing factors of vocational college counselors’ vocational pressure from five dimensions of society, school, students, family and individuals. The main manifestations are: the prejudice of society against vocational education needs to be changed, and the pressure of public opinion is increasing;Changes in educational policies and deviations in the implementation process; The parental literacy of students is uneven, and there is a lack of collaborative education. The organizational incentives for school management are not sound, and the development prospects are unclear;Unclear division of responsibilities and incomplete rules and regulations; The workload is too heavy, neglecting the physical and mental health of counselors, and the student management model is outdated, making it difficult to effectively manage.Students lack safety awareness and have prominent physical and mental safety issues; The overall quality is not high, and the difficulty of management increases. There is a conflict between family and work, and the relationship between the two is difficult to balance;Family members are dissatisfied with the current work situation and unwilling to provide support. The work ability of counselors needs to be improved, their personality traits are different, and their psychological qualities vary. These are all factors that affect the professional pressure of vocational counselors.Based on the analysis of the influencing factors of occupational stress for vocational counselors, this study proposes intervention strategies in these five dimensions.Firstly,in terms of society,we need to change the misconception of prioritizing general education over professional duties and create a favorable public opinion atmosphere;Promote education policy reform and truly implement policies;Improve parental literacy, gather consensus, and collaborate in educating individuals.Secondly,in terms of schools, improve organizational incentive mechanisms and smooth promotion channels;Standardize the scope of responsibilities and improve rules and regulations;Reduce the workload of counselors and strengthen humanistic care.Thirdly,at the student level, strengthen students’ safety education and promote their physical and mental health development;Improve the overall quality of students and innovation management mode.At the family level, create a harmonious family atmosphere and balance work family relationships;Provide emotional support to help counselors alleviate occupational stress.Fifth,at the individual level, improve one’s overall quality, work ability, and psychological adjustment ability. The intervention strategies proposed in the above five levels will help to alleviate the professional pressure of vocational counselors, improve their self-efficacy and happiness, and achieve better work results. It is hoped that this study can provide a reference for intervention of vocational counselors’ occupational stress.
