With the rapid development of society,the reserve of comprehensive talents in our country can not meet the needs of social development,and the compulsory education stage lacks the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability.The core quality to be cultivated in biology is proposed in the compulsory education Biology Curriculum Standard(2022 edition),which emphasizes the cultivation of students’ ability to explore and practice,and the ability and character of students to solve problems in real situations or complete practical projects.In the course content of this curriculum standard,suggestions on learning activities are given,and project-type learning activities are proposed for many times,so as to improve students’ comprehensive practical ability.Project-based teaching,as a relatively mainstream teaching method abroad,is quite effective in cultivating students’ comprehensive ability.Through project-based teaching activities,students’ ability and character to solve problems in real situations and complete time projects can be cultivated.Project results of project-based teaching usually take various forms,including the following four types:physical production(model),situational display(debate competition or speech competition),written report(survey report),multimedia(charts or PPT),etc.This study mainly adopts literature research method,case analysis method,observation research method,description recording method,sampling recording method and interview method to carry out research from both theoretical and practical aspects,and uses project-style teaching method to improve the effectiveness of junior high school biology and cultivate students’ ability to explore and practice.Theoretical aspects:(1)Through the review of the literature related to projectbased teaching,the current situation of project-based teaching is deeply understood,and the purpose,direction and significance of this paper are clarified.(2)Pay attention to the update of curriculum standards,and study the newly promulgated biology curriculum standards for compulsory education.In the newly promulgated curriculum standards,project-style teaching activities have been proposed for many times.Projectstyle teaching methods are closely connected with the core biological literacy proposed in the new curriculum standards and complement each other.(3)By investigating the current situation of the school’s project-style teaching,analyzing the current situation of implementation and teachers’ attitude,it is found that project-style teaching is feasible in junior high school biology teaching,and project-style activities are conducive to the cultivation of students’ ability to explore and practice.In terms of practice: Before teaching practice,the teachers were interviewed to understand the application status of project-style teaching in biology teaching of junior high schools in our country,and to determine the project-style practice of this research.Based on the interview results and the preliminary theoretical research,a specific project-based teaching process was designed and the theme was selected for educational practice.Its effectiveness was verified through the scores of two project activities in the experimental class and the interview results of two classes.The results show that P=0.000 < 0.01,indicating that there are significant differences before and after projectbased teaching in the experimental class.The experimental class is superior to the control class in terms of understanding level of knowledge content,learning method,learning attitude,exploration and practice ability,etc.Project-based teaching can improve students’ abilities in all aspects.Based on the reflection and analysis of the practice process,this paper puts forward the problems that teachers should pay attention to in the implementation of projectbased teaching activities,and puts forward suggestions on the practice of project-based teaching activities.In the practice process,it advocates teachers to use micro-projects for teaching,and provides the teaching cases of physical model making in project-based teaching.
