In 2019,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at a symposium for teachers of ideological and political theory courses at the school that it is necessary to explore the ideological and political education resources contained in other courses,and achieve all-round education for all staff,the whole process,and all aspects.Biology,as a science that studies the phenomena and laws of life activities,contains rich elements of ideological and political education.How to organically integrate these elements into teaching and achieve ideological and political education in the curriculum is the first problem that teachers need to solve.Based on this,this article explores strategies for integrating curriculum ideological and political education into junior high school biology teaching,and conducts practical research using the seventh grade first volume of the People’s Education Press "Biology" as an example,in order to provide reference for frontline biology teachers to integrate curriculum ideological and political education.This mainly includes the following tasks:Firstly,a survey questionnaire and an outline of teacher interviews were designed to investigate the implementation of ideological and political education in internship schools.Through student surveys and teacher interviews,the following research findings were obtained:(1)Students’ ideological and political level is not high,and there are shortcomings in internalization and practice;(2)Some teachers have insufficient understanding of the ideological and political aspects of the curriculum,and there are difficulties in integrating ideological and political resources into biology classroom teaching;(3)Teachers have a single teaching method in the teaching process,mostly using lecture methods;(4)Due to teaching pressure,the current situation of implementing ideological and political education in the curriculum is not ideal,and there is insufficient attention paid to the development of students’ ideological and political education.Secondly,in view of the survey feedback,based on the Curriculum Standards,combined with the Guidelines for the Implementation of Moral Education in primary and Secondary Schools and the Guidelines for the Ideological and Political Construction of Higher Education Curriculum,the author sorted out the ideological and political elements in the first volume of the seventh grade of the Human Education edition of Biology.According to the content,this paper summarizes and extracts the basic strategy of integrating ideological and political elements into biology teaching in junior high school from three aspects: mining,integration of ideological and political elements and teaching design.Specifically,it includes:(1)in terms of the mining of ideological and political elements,it puts forward the mining basis,principles and four mining strategies;(2)In the aspect of integration with subject knowledge,five integration strategies are proposed:integration with Chinese excellent traditional culture,integration with the history of biological science,integration with hot social events,integration with practical activities,integration with the great achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics;(3)In the aspect of teaching design,it puts forward the links of teaching design integrated into curriculum ideology and politics,specifically: Textbook analysis--find out ideological and political points,dig deeply--focus on entry point,activity design--penetrate generative points,summary sublimation--enlarge educating points,homework layout--determine extension points,and take "the relationship between biology and environment","Cell life" and "single-cell Biology" as examples to carry out teaching design.Finally,based on the proposed strategy,a one semester teaching practice was conducted in two classes of Grade 7 in a high school in Xi’an.After the practice was completed,the teaching practice effect of integrating ideological and political education into the curriculum was analyzed through the results of pre and post student questionnaire surveys,students’ homework compliance,and interviews with attending teachers.The results indicate that after teaching practice,students’ ideological and political concepts have undergone varying degrees of change,and their interest in biology learning has improved to a certain extent.In summary,it can be concluded that integrating ideological and political education into junior high school biology teaching is effective.It is not only conducive to the formation of students’ core biological literacy,but also helps students understand and practice socialist core values,and helps teachers implement the fundamental task of "cultivating morality and cultivating talents".
