“Strengthening cultural confidence” has become a key word in the new era,and cultural inheritance plays a fundamental role from cultural confidence to cultural consciousness and then to cultural self-improvement.The country emphasizes the need to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture,tell the story of Chinese excellent traditional culture well,continuously enhance the cohesion and influence of the Chinese nation,and promote Chinese culture to better enter the world.In school education,the primary school clay sculpture curriculum has positive significance in promoting the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture.It is worth researching and exploring how to play a role in cultural inheritance.This study investigates the current implementation status of clay sculpture courses in two schools in Guilin through interviews and questionnaire surveys,and identifies problems and deficiencies in curriculum cognition,content,implementation,and evaluation.In terms of cognition,teachers have differences in their understanding of the nature and value of clay sculpture courses,their understanding of clay sculpture culture is unclear,and their attitudes towards clay sculpture courses are mixed;In terms of course content,schools rarely carry out teaching and research activities related to clay sculpture,and there is very little connection with off campus clay sculpture teaching.The exploration of teaching content is not deep,and the focus is on clay sculpture skill teaching.The cultural content of clay sculpture is less involved,and there is a distance between achieving goals;In terms of curriculum implementation,clay sculpture teaching equipment cannot meet teaching needs,teachers lack opportunities to participate in clay sculpture training,students and parents’ support is imbalanced,and clay sculpture teaching practice is disconnected from the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture;In terms of curriculum evaluation,teachers have various evaluation criteria for students,but there are difficulties in implementing the evaluation.Through the comprehensive analysis of the survey results,it is found that at the cognitive level,teachers and other subjects have insufficient understanding of the nature and value of clay sculpture courses;At the practical level,the teaching content is not closely related to the excellent traditional Chinese culture and lacks exploration,the curriculum arrangement is unreasonable,the implementation funds are insufficient,and the curriculum evaluation is not implemented in place;At the institutional level,the school management mechanism is not sound,and the institutional guarantee for curriculum implementation is flawed.Through attribution analysis,it can be concluded that at the teacher level,the professional level of clay sculpture is not high,the professional growth mechanism is not perfect,and the awareness of cultural inheritance is not strong enough;At the school management level,the school lacks sufficient leadership in cultural inheritance;At the social level,the utilitarian ideology of education has a profound impact,and the support from all sectors of society needs to be enhanced.After identifying the problem,try to provide suggestions and strategies from the corresponding level to promote the development of the implementation of primary school clay sculpture curriculum that inherits excellent traditional Chinese culture.Firstly,enhance teachers’ awareness of cultural inheritance and build a strong ideological fortress for cultural adherence;Secondly,improve the sustainability of teacher clay sculpture cultural training,continuously organize specialized training for teachers,and teachers themselves should also continue to strengthen traditional cultural learning,enhance cultural recognition,and strengthen the internal motivation for cultural inheritance;Thirdly,it emphasizes cultural inclusiveness and promotes the school-based implementation of clay sculpture courses by conducting activities such as teaching and research on clay sculpture culture and exchanging clay sculpture culture,in order to adapt to the actual development of the times and local areas;Fourthly,strengthen the construction of school inheritance leadership,scientifically coordinate the design of clay sculpture courses,strengthen the inheritance guidance of curriculum implementation,and tell the story of China well;Finally,strengthen cultural propaganda,create a positive clay sculpture cultural atmosphere to win social support,ultimately reach a cultural consensus at the social level,and create a good ecological environment for the inheritance of Chinese excellent traditional culture.
