In the current world of deepening economic globalization and rapid development of science and technology,the emphasis on the need for human beings to have new skills,ways of thinking and ways of working in order to cope with the rapidly changing social environment is reflected in the field of education and teaching as the goal and direction of teaching reform with the cultivation of students’ core competencies.It is emphasized that "based on the requirements of core competencies development,important concepts,thematic contents and basic knowledge are selected,the curriculum content is designed,the connection between the content and the educational objectives is enhanced,and the organization of the content is optimized",which shows that the promotion of big ideas teaching is conducive to the implementation of core competencies and is in line with the new trend of China’s compulsory education curriculum reform.At present,there have been many research results in the theory and practice of teaching big ideas in China,but there are fewer studies in the junior high school IT curriculum.In view of this,this study constructs a junior high school IT teaching model based on disciplinary big ideas,aiming to provide a referenceable idea for the cultivation of students’ core IT competencies.This study adopts the literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview survey method and experimental research method,and develops the research from four parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly explains the background of the selected topic,sorts out the current situation of teaching big ideas at home and abroad,summarizes the system of disciplinary big ideas,the promotion of core competencies,and the research and practice in education and teaching,thus putting forward the main questions of the study,and then explains the purpose and significance of the study,the content,ideas and methods of the study.The second part is about the core ideas and theoretical foundations,mainly defining the concepts related to big ideas,disciplinary big ideas and teaching models,and based on structuralist teaching theory,contextual cognitive theory,nearest development area theory and meaningful learning theory.The third part is the construction of a junior high school IT teaching model based on the disciplinary big ideas.Combining literature research,interviews and questionnaire analysis,the current teaching status of junior high school IT courses is derived,and the "8E" teaching model of junior high school IT based on the disciplinary big ideas is constructed accordingly.In the fourth part,the teaching practice activities are carried out according to the "8E" teaching model,and the effectiveness of the teaching model is verified by analyzing the data results of the IT core competencies level and the stage test results of the experimental and control classes.The results of the study show that the teaching of big ideas can help students to systematically build up a knowledge framework and to a certain extent,improve students’ performance and enhance their information technology core literacy level.
