A Comparative Study Of Masculine Style And Traditional Style Of Female Table Tennis Players

In order to explore the technical and tactical characteristics of excellent female table tennis players Wang Manyu and Chen Meng,as well as the differences in playing styles,this thesis selects 17 matches between Wang Manyu and Chen Meng from 2020 to 2022,among which 7matches are Wang Manyu versus Chen Meng.Using table tennis three-stage analysis method,the data of both sides are analyzed.Using video observation method,literature method,comparative analysis method and other research methods,from the service point,return line,use of techniques,use of tactics to analyze the technical and tactical application of Wang Manyu and Chen Meng,and take part of the characteristics of male play to compare Wang Manyu and Chen Meng.The results are as follows:1.(1)In the service break,Wang Manyu and Chen Meng’s service points are mainly short serve and half short serve,and other points are abundant.Occasionally,they are used to play evenly with the open long serve.Their service points are rich and balanced.In the third board,both Wang Manyu and Chen Meng had a strong sense of attacking,and the tactical intention of serving was clear,that is,attacking the opponent’s backhand position after serving.Wang Manyu was more fierce in serving,had a strong awareness of sidewise,and had a high direct scoring rate.Chen Meng in the third board fierce combination,mainly with high-quality service connection attack,Chen Meng used the most backhand attack,but mainly above the table,fierce degree is not enough.(2)In the receiving and grabbing section,Wang Manyu is confident in her backhand skills.Her main tactics are receiving,twisting and pulling to connect backhand continuous attack and controlling backhand rushing attack.Chen Meng’s return to serve is mainly to ensure stability.The control technology is most used in the return of serve,which is mainly used with short swing and long split.Chen Meng’s twisting and pulling technology is immature and less used,which is mainly used with side twisting.In the fourth board,Chen Meng has a strong sense of attack.Due to her conservative style of play,her direct scoring rate in receiving and grabbing section is not high,so Chen Meng can easily make herself passive defensive by using more control techniques in receiving and serving.(3)In the stalemate section,Wang Manyu’s high-quality backhand continuous force tear,strong offensive ability,the opponent is difficult to cope with Wang Manyu’s continuous attack.But Wang Manyu’s tactics and return line is relatively simple,backhand rarely changes straight,forehand is relatively weak backhand.Wang Manyu is in a remote position in the stalemate,the conversion of forehand and backhand is more passive,easy to be pressed by the opponent forehand backhand.Chen Meng performed well in the holding section.She used more variable line backhand tactics to press backhand,which had good effect.She often took the initiative because of the rich lines in the return.Both of them have very high side direct scoring rate,Chen Meng uses more than Wang Manyu,which also reflects Chen Meng’s rich tactical system in the stalemate section.2.Wang Manyu’s style of play is fierce and aggressive,and his style of play is little different from that of men’s players.Chen Meng’s style of play is more conservative,but from the perspective of the first three boards,Chen Meng still embodies the masculine technique.Wang Manyu and Chen Meng have a good sense of attacking.The first three boards mainly focus on serving attacking,which is in line with the current tactical system and playing style of men’s players.From the receiving attack,Wang Manyu’s receiving attack is mainly,with more use of twisting and pulling and high return quality,and strong ability to connect the fourth board continuous attack;Although Chen Meng has the technique of twisting and pulling to receive the service,the quality of return is general,and the use of little,mainly control,and the tactical connection of the fourth board is mainly attack.From this section,Wang Manyu attack initiative and firm,Chen Meng control after attack or control after defense counterattack.Wang Manyu’s continuous attack is in line with the mainstream playing style of men’s players,while Chen Meng’s conservative playing style of controlling,connecting and attacking,defending and counterattacking is in line with the traditional playing style of women’s players.In the stalemate,Wang Manyu mainly used backhand continuous after-force attack,combined with forehand and side use,Chen Meng mainly used rich drop point rapid continuous attack.Among the male athletes,the stalemate is mostly the high quality forehand and backhand matchmaking in Zhongyuantai.Wang Manyu is more obvious in this stage,but the error rate is higher.Chen Meng at this stage,belongs to the traditional play of the pendulum.
