Abstract/Summary:
From the end of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century,in the replanning of China’s education system and educational ideas,it pushed Japan,Europe and the United States, although it played a positive role in promoting the reform of modern education and the cultivation of talents, but China’s own educational tradition also weakened. Therefore,a group of modern Confucian intellectuals deeply felt the responsibility of the times and tried to preserve China’s traditional culture and education, and many of them established traditional academies, and Qian Mu was one of them.Qian Mu had lived in exile in Hong Kong and traveled to Taiwan, and felt the suffering of the public,so he co-founded New Asia College in 1949,and in the complex environment of "culturally poor" Hong Kong and colonial rule,he took a position in education with distinctive traditional Chinese cultural characteristics, and strived to pursue the ideal of humanistic education of modern Confucian scholars in practice. The predecessor of New Asia College is Asian Literature and Business School,on the basis of which New Asia College was formally established in 1950,Qian Mu,Tang Junyi,Zhang Pijie, etc.jointly participated in the creation and planning of humanities education in New Asia College in the early stage, among which Qian Mu is the most influential figure,so this research is mainly to clarify Qian Mu’s ideas on humanistic education and provide academic support for the humanities education of New Asia College.Secondly,it takes the most programmatic document of New Asia College-"New Asia Academic Regulations",which clarifies the value pursuit of humanities education in New Asia College, and clarifies that the purpose of humanities education of New Asia College is to urge students to be a whole person, continue the blood of national culture, and stand up for the spirit of national culture. In addition,New Asia College adheres to the background of Chinese traditional culture and follows the basic spirit of education lectures of Song Ming College,so its humanistic education practice attaches great importance to the inheritance of traditional Chinese teachers, the academic training of teachers and students, and the sublimation of the realm of life art.The academic and artistic life of the curriculum integrates the practical activities launched by teachers and students of New Asia to improve their academic and artistic accomplishment. Therefore,in the final chapter of the study,it reflects on the reasons for the "last glory" of New Asia College, enlightens today’s education with its success, and provides space for deep thinking for traditional cultural education in Chinese schools.
