Meaning Construction In Network Society

With the development of Internet penetration,the enhancement of people’s subject consciousness and participation consciousness,more and more people watch events and express their views on the Internet.As a conflict mechanism occurring in the "Virtual Environment",the formation and evolution of events are closely related to the social system and cultural background,as well as the perception and understanding of Internet users.This paper selects several network events and analyzes them in combination with the meaning construction framework.The purpose is to further answer the following three questions: What are the key elements that affect the meaning construction of Internet users? What role does the meaning construction of netizens and various elements play in the formation of network group events? What is the mechanism of meaning construction of Internet users?The study found that,the formation of network group events is closely related to the meaning construction of Internet users.First,when constructing the meaning of events,the subject of Internet users can be divided into action initiator,action responder and stakeholders;The indicators that affect the meaning construction of action initiators include event value,event description ability,event contradiction and conflict,event information integrity and social fit;The indicators that affect the meaning construction of action responders include their own relevance,emotional resonance of events and information acquisition;The indicators that affect the meaning construction of stakeholders include communication and promotion and interest conflict.Second,the meaning construction of Internet users promotes the formation of network group events.When the meaning construction of Internet users reaches a certain degree on each index element,it can form a strong network influence.Only in the continuous meaning construction and information supplement can it develop into a network group event.Third,the meaning construction mechanism of Internet users includes the projection of collective concern,the adsorption of psychological perception distance and the driving of behavioral motivation.This study attempts to explain the generation of network group events from the perspective of meaning construction,and tries to provide reasonable suggestions for the guidance of network public opinion and ideas for the governance of network order.
