From Network Events To Network Society:the Nature And Characteristics Of Network Society

With the development of Internet,the media has greatly changed,and the network media has played an important role in our life.With the help of internet media,online virtual space can be constructed,and an "network society" that are are significantly different from the reality has been produced,which is a new form of society caused by the development of information technology.In the book?The rise of the Internet Society?,Custer put forward the concept of "network society" for the first time.Since then,the discussion about the nature and characteristics of the network society has never stopped,but the conclusion is still unclear.This paper will pay attention to thepropagation and fermentation process of network events,especially the dissemination of the main events:action characteristics of network media,individual and group,nature and features to glimpse "network society" which can be treated as the field of these actions with the perspective of network events in the background of network society.This paper argues that themode of action or logic of "media","individual","group" in the presence of new media are different from those in social reality.In the terms of media action,the social network can be regarded as a risk society;In the terms of individual action,the social network can be regarded as a society of strangers;In the terms of collective action,the social network can be regarded as a post-modern society.
