Literary texts are an important vehicle for learning traditional culture, promoting traditional culture, and inheriting traditional culture. At this stage,it is difficult to make use of the transformative relationship between words and meanings to facilitate teaching and learning in the primary school classroom, and it is easy to find two teaching disadvantages: striving to understand the words or swallowing them whole. The use of the transformation of the relationship between words and meanings in the design and application of literary teaching is the key to eliminating the shortcomings of teaching and is also the most important way to achieve the symbiosis of words and meanings in the teaching of literary texts. This study explores the design of teaching primary school literary texts in the context of the symbiosis of meaning and speech, firstly,by combing and integrating the relevant literature and carefully studying the new compulsory education language curriculum standards. The second part of the study is based on the expert’s interpretation of the new curriculum and the actual teaching of the subject and the principles of teaching design for primary school literary texts that point to the co-existence of meaning and speech. Finally,we use the internship opportunity to develop the design of teaching primary school literary texts in the form of a case study that points to the co-existence of language and meaning. This is to provide an effective reference for front-line primary school teachers when teaching literary texts.
