As a branch of competitive sports,disabled competitive sports have been highly valued by the country and society in recent years.Athletic sports for disabled people are of great significance in realizing their own value.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Government have been highly concerned about the development of sports for disabled people.They have continuously improved their social security and service system for disabled people,especially in the field of table tennis.They have trained a large number of outstanding disabled athletes and won glory for the country.This study uses literature review,questionnaire survey,and expert interview methods to analyze the current development status and main problems of table tennis for people with disabilities in Shandong Province,and proposes targeted strategies and suggestions on how to promote the development of table tennis for people with disabilities in Shandong Province.Research findings:(1)Table tennis athletes with disabilities in Shandong Province are mostly disabled due to acquired factors,resulting in an imbalance in the male to female ratio of athletes,with male athletes significantly exceeding female athletes;And athletes are generally older,while young athletes are severely lacking in reserve strength.However,from the perspective of education level,athletes have a relatively high level of education,mainly with a college degree or above,and have stable jobs and a fixed source of income.Therefore,the frequency and duration of training during the pre competition training period are guaranteed.(2)The training motivation of disabled table tennis athletes in Shandong Province mainly stems from factors such as their interest in table tennis and the benefits of competition for physical health,which are influenced by both internal and external motivations;Athletes have a wide range of participation types,from the provincial Paralympic Games to the International Paralympic Games,but the distribution of participation levels is uneven.TT1,TT2,and TT8,TT9,and TT13 have a large number of participants,while there is a serious shortage of athletes at competition levels such as TT6,TT7,and TT8;(3)Table tennis athletes with disabilities in Shandong Province have a high overall satisfaction with coaches,training venues,and training plans.However,some athletes also find it difficult to meet their own needs in terms of training duration,professional guidance,and companion training.(4)In terms of the gender ratio of the disabled sports table tennis coaches in Shandong Province,male coaches are in the majority,and the age distribution is "big at both ends and small in the middle",with relatively sufficient backbone;Coaches have a high level of education,with a majority holding master’s or undergraduate degrees,but their professional titles are generally low;Coaches have a long training period and coaching experience,and have solid frontline experience.(5)Table tennis coaches for disabled athletes in Shandong Province are mostly part-time,with fewer pre job training sessions and no training tasks.Upon receiving competition notifications,they undergo centralized pre competition training and group athletes according to their disability categories or levels;The coach is generally satisfied with the salary level,equipment,and other aspects.(6)The training ground for disabled table tennis athletes in Shandong Province adopts a sound person training ground.The coaches pointed out that the main shortcomings of disabled athletes themselves are poor physical fitness,poor psychological quality,and technical skills.However,the main shortcomings in the development of table tennis are: narrow selection of materials,athlete selection mainly based on the Disabled Persons’ Federation,insufficient reserve forces,and insufficient social attention.The training methods still follow traditional training methods and need to be updated.(7)In response to the current situation of disabled sports table tennis projects in Shandong Province,this study proposes optimization paths suitable for disabled sports table tennis projects from the following aspects: firstly,strengthening the construction of reserve talent teams,expanding talent selection channels,secondly,strengthening the construction of disabled training venues,integrating university resources to assist in sports training,and thirdly,organizing the construction of professional talent teams to enhance professional talent business capabilities,Fourthly,strengthen the training of athletes’ mental health quality,and fifthly,increase media promotion efforts to pay attention to the unique charm of sports for people with disabilities;Sixth,expand channels for fundraising and promote the better development of sports for people with disabilities. |
